It's f***ing crap. Oatway's column is pathetic, just like his football, no real news in it, or anything remotely interesting article wise.

And at 3 quid the club are taking the piss.

I think £3 is the standard charge at all grounds - BTW you don't have to buy it if you think it is crap or were you forced to ?

I believe they issue programme sellers with guns which they point at ususpecting passers-by until they agree to buy a programme.

I don't buy it regularly, but when I do I think its a pretty good read. As Mr Hut says, £3 is the standard charge nowadays, and I've certainly seen a LOT worse.

Suppose we're all in a whinging mood tonight though.

I like to support my local club, that's why I buy a programme. But, it would be nice to get something for my money on occasion.

Out of all the playing staff available, only the Albion would pick the one who cannot read or write to contribute to the programme.

Your match day programme holds a dear little place in our hearts. The people that write/produce it went out of their ways on deadline day to make a gesture to us when really they didn't have to and that mattered so much to my son. I reread it all.the.time. Obviously I don't buy it week in week out but my son has a Brighton fan friend at school and they swap programmes all the time so I do flick through from time to time.

But it's a choice to buy it. Not like having to pay your council tax and only getting you bins emptied every second week or something.

'zeens only seem to work well in times of trouble. Maybe make it a bit more community based? Have some decent articles, about local things and local people with Albion connections.

Still crap though.

Wasn't it runner-up in some match programmes award though?

Think it's very good, I admire the knowledge and dedication of those who produce it.

Thats right, slag off one of our longest-serving players who has never done anything less than given his all for the club. So he's got some literacy problems - at least he's had the guts to admit to it and get off his arse to do something about it at the Albions adult education classes. Doubtless he's helped inspire a few others to go along and get some help as well.

Still, much easier to have a snidey pop from the sidelines eh. They don't call you cocksucker for nothing, do they.

yes very true and the front cover is always shit, it should just be an action shot from a past game not a bloody modelling picture of one of the players

Fair point about him getting of his arse etc. I stand by my comments about him being a crap footballer though. Anyone who supports a player who is crap is not a true Albion fan in my eyes. I bet you like Mayo as well.

Also, if the only comments are 'he gives his all' you generally know the player is crap.

I always buy a programme, in fact I usually buy two as our daughter has various friends who comes with her and I always buy them one as well. Charlies column is always a good lighthearted read and with the crap served up on days like today on the pitch its just about the best part of the day sitting in the pub reading the programme before the game.
