Was in the supermarket today and overheard some oldie's talking at the checkout. It transpires that 1 of the couples have been married for 62 years. Just got me thinking of how people manage to make marriage last so long and still look happy?

I've had 19 years of marriage. 7 to the first wife before she divorced me, Then 12 to the 2nd wife before I divorced her!

Obviously I've been getting something wrong!!!!

Are there any posters on here who have managed to have a long & happy marriage?

Only married for the last 4, but 22 years together so far. :clap2:

Very happy and never argue, but that could all change in a couple of weeks whilst we're redecorating the living room...

Married 5 years, but do have the odd argument. The wife through a glass at me the other week, which was pretty entertaining.

She's a good bird and we have a good marriage.

They were happily married - but not to each other. Illicit pensioner sex in the afternoon. I'll leave you with that thought.

Wrinkly sex! What a horrible thought! It would be like looking at a bowl of prunes!

We're married twelve years and if he buys another God damn golf club we'll be divorced before our next anniversary.

Known him since I was 10 ish, married at 18 and here we are four kids )almost) and twelve years later. We're not a never argue couple, we do have our moments but I think he does it so he gets to have make up sex afterwards or something.

He's a good sort really, devoted to the kids and our family, it's corny but he really he is my soul mate.

Married 3 years the first time, 5 years the second time and have now been married for 11 FANTASTIC years to Justine - why wasn't she around in 1983   it would have saved me a lot of grief and a LOT of money.

We have 4 gorgeous children and I love them all to bits

Spot on. Only had 2 kids then I was marched off to the vets!

The eldest one came out bum first. I remember watching him starting to come out then I looked up at the wife and said " Guess what love it looks just like you"
