I wonder if any of you guys and galls can help.

I sing in a choir based in Shoreham and apart from the fact that we are as most choirs losing members to age etc etc, we also found that our Christmas Concert had spare seats (50) which if filled would have gone some way to even out the thumping great loss we made.

Anyway, I am looking at ways of publicising forthcoming concerts etc and we currently have posters, that we put in shops, car windows etc etc and the local Shoreham rag also puts an advert in .

Do you know of any local community web sites or stuff like that we could hit! If you have had to do an ad campaign ( but a cheap one) what did you target?

Cheers

Whenever we're looking for something to do on a Sunday or Bank Holiday, I go to google and type "what's on in sussex". Quite a few websites get listed with all sorts of events. Dunno how you'd get yours onto the sites however. Good luck though.

Do what the Albion do, if you can't sell out your event, charge the few people who do go a blooming fortune , that way you will still turn a profit.

Other ideas from the Chartered Institute of Tight Marketing include extortionate prices for programmes and selling pochos when it is wet rather than buy a roof for your venue.
