Whoops , started another thread I’m afraid. However I’ve seen the Fall , or rather M.E.S. and backing band more than any other live act. Thanks for the memories.

Nooooo ... bought every one of The Fall's records for years

A complete one-off, although I'm amazed he's lasted this long.

Sad, very sad. But not surprising. Knew he was ill.

First saw him and the Fall getting pissed in the Uni bar in the afternoon of their gig at Warwick, 1984.
In the late '80s, saw the Fall at a number of dodgy venues in London - Woolwich Tramshed, Walthamstow Town Hall, for example.
Last time I saw them was about 10 years ago and Mark was on crutches having had hip operation I believe.

Legend an overused word, but he was a true one-off. That voice could not-ah, be mistaken-ah.

Welcome to the US - 80s-ah/90s-ah....

RIP MES.

After the seemingly relentless death toll of 2016, last year was a relative reprieve. But already in 2018 we have Mark E Smith, Cyrille Regis, Jimmy Armfield, Peter Wyngarde, Dolores O'Riordan, Bella Emberg, Eddie Clarke and Simon Shelton Barnes (Tinky Winky)
