As some of you will have seen from the front page of the Argus, the lady who was savagely murdered this week was Marie Harding.

Marie was an Albion Fan through and through and had been for many years. I first met her on the Junior Seagulls coaches to Gillingham and came to know her and the family as good friends.

You may have come across her at Withdean where she helped out her daughter in the little ticket collection box at the entrance to Withdean. Her daughter works tirelessly in the Abion ticket office taking calls for tickets and issueing Season Tickets etc.

She is a good friend of us and worked with my wife at our local school, we can only imagine what she and the rest of the family are going through.

God Bless you Marie, may you rest in peace and I pass on my sincerest condonances to them and everyone involved. Again I cannot even contemplate what your husband is going through at the moment.

Marie was "one of us".

Absolutely horrendous, coming a day after all those pathetic people were whinging over whether they could fox hunt or not, really brings you back down to earth.

Condolences to her family in what must be a nightmareish time.

Hope you can rest in peace, Marie

It's along the same lines as Robert Eaton. Going about their daily business, doing nobody any harm. We may not have known them personally or spoken to them, but as Dave says, they were one of us.
The only difference with RE is that Robert was one of thousands that died, whereas Marie was an individual.

A minutes silence will be held before the QPR game tomorrow, let everybody observe it.

RIP

I worked with Marie and she was a terrific lady. Very helpful, caring and always interested in how you were doing.

She'll be sorely missed.

R.I.P.

This is tragic. Until this season she and her family sat in front of me every year at Withdean. They are really nice people.

She never missed a home game and never moaned. A true fan.

have just got into work and am left with the feelings of great sorrow for Jim ( Marie's husband...a nicer chap you could not meet) and Julie (her daughter), Andy, natalie and daniel.

Those of you who have season tickets, purchased seats/away tickets/ collected tickets etc will have come across Julie. In fact some of you may remember she was the lady who used to have to leave early to get to the booth at Withdean. A more efficient, kind woman I have yet to meet and to have her Mother taken away from her in this most horrible callous and despicable way fills me with such anger.

Somewhere out there is a monster who needs to be caught, quickly before he can do this to anyone else.

marie and her husband were some of the merry band of people who operated the turnstiles at the Goldstone in the past and her love of the Albion was there to see. We travelled together on the Junior Seagulls coaches to Gillingham and to such far away places as Limcoln. She always had time to speak to people about the Albion and argued passionately about us.

I hope the minutes silence is observed tomorrow and also please spare a thought in that minute for her family left behind trying to cope with something none of us in our darkest nightmares could possibly imagine happening to one of our family.

God Bless Marie. God Bless Julie.

this is so sad think i know who her daughter is and probably most definately come across maria 2

last friday afternoon when i found out watford had been made all ticket again and i was working away without a credit card phoned up the club shop 2 find out if there was any way of me getting in the albion end after explainning the situation the women on the other end who was obviously streesed cos of all the mixed messages she was getting from watford and all the albion fans phoning up 2 moan of which i guess she was getting caught in the middle through no thought of her own suddenly bite my head of screaming down the phone that it wasn't her fault and we ended up having a bit of an arguement.i came of the phone fuming about how a albion member of staff had spoken 2 a die hard fan who goes home and away so much so that i considered making a complaint but once i'd carmed down and i got my ticket decided against it and now this happens so hope the women on the other end wasn't maria or julie but i fear if julie's who i think she is that it was her cos i reconigsed the voice.feeling rather guilty this morning but if it was julie im sure she's got more on her mind 2day and my thoughts are with her
