He may not play in the next couple of years. However, the Poyet/Bloom plan is not all about success today, it is laying the foundations for the next five to ten years (and beyond). It's the reason why people like Arsene Wenger sign the likes of Oxlade-Chamberlain.

But we go through this charade virtually every year. Just because some kid has shown a bit of promise playing for Lewes, Eastbourne or Blatchington Mill School Girls Team, the chances of them getting into our first team squad and proving to be better than the players we could buy via other routes are similar to the likelihood of you and I having sex on the moon. Let's invest the money elsewhere and scrap this youth nonsense.
