I was having the same discussion today at work. The game on Saturday must be called off as ManU still have the issue of covid, which is why they called off tonights game. They can't choose what game to call off. the players still have to isolate for 10 days. If the game was to go ahead Saturday they can/shoulld play tonight.
Maybe Spurs could say that some of their players had false-positives to get round the 10-day isolation as its about 8-9-days on Thursday. With that logic Spurs v Leicester would be off, but it's not
Corrected for youEggxactly
Yeah that makes complete sense. Which is why the PL hasn’t already called it off! Don’t think anyone is actually expecting the match to be on.
Does anyone know what the Covid entry rules are for fans at Old Trafford. Specifically for my 15 year old unvaccinated daughter? Thanks
Heard on 5Live this morning that Norwich were without 8 players last night "who could have made the squad" (or similar wording) due to Covid, but they still played.
The rules on postponing an EPL games due to players testing positive for covid have been published by the way……
Big Six teams - “…..If four or more players test positive for Covid-19, the chairman or manager at the football club can get their next fixture postponed by texting POSTPONE to any number of EPL officials….”
The other 14 - “……if more than twenty players test positive for Covid-19, the chairman and manager must write a letter to the EPL CEO to be received no less than 28 days prior to the fixture outlining which players have tested positive, why they tested positive, what strain of Covid-19 they tested positive with and an explanation on how the club will avoid more positive tests going forward. The EPL will then set up a committee to adjudicate on the potential postponement. The outcome of the adjudication will be announced no less than five minutes before kick off….”
According to Johnny Cantor it's still on at the moment as he reported PB and Utd officials had a chat yesterday and it's all systems go but that may change very quicklySo are Manure going to play against us
More positive cases being reported at United this evening. With our own injuries/covid/suspensions it really wouldn’t be the end of the world if this game was off.
