Blackpool is an embarrasment to the whole country though, I used to run a nightclub there and it was a very scary experience.

Manchester has lots to offer visitors, as well as needing to regenerate the East side, so it's a good call..........and about 15 minutes walk from work.

Well, I guess there's Old Trafford for the football. Erm, then there's the cricket ground Old Trafford, of course. After that I'm struggling a bit, to be honest.

It should have gone to Blackpool. I went there for the first time last year and was shocked at how run down it has become.

Blackpool needs non-seasonal industry to help regenerate itself and a Casino would have been a good start.

Have you been to Manchester since it's been rebuilt?

The center is fantastic. In a strange way it getting blown to smitherines by the IRA has done it a favour in the long run.

Can't believe not a single south coast city getting one:nono: :nono: :nono:

Wouldn't mind going to Portsmouth if they had one

And it's in such a lovely area. Sandwiched between Longsight and Ardwick. just right for all the punters to be robbed at gunpoint on their way too and from the place.

Shit hole of the highest order that area.

Good call - the crims must be rubbing their hands with glee!

Yes I have. Unfortunately, the centre and, from what I saw, much of the rest of it is still very much a complete crap hole, a disgraceful state of affairs for this country's third largest city.

I'd be more willing to level the corruption charge at Labour had it gone to the Dome, which I thought was NAILED ON to win. Blackpool needs it more than Manchester.
