Completely, or just to the bench?

Completely, not in the squad.

Hardly surprising really as he is probably mentally in a bit of a state at present.

NB He paid £200 for 20 B & H the other week.......

Seems bizarre given that he played for England on Tuesday....................unless since then NoTW has got hold of new revelations and he is aware of the shitstorm that is going to break tomorrow?

Fergie wouldn't have dropped him if he was in the frame of mind to play so has to be the right decision. Might be out for a while I guess......................

Well of course it is

Prove it.

That first post came out wrong on reflection - what i meant is how stupid it is that the media come up with these storys and it affects football. Still at least he played for England which was the most important game.

Not necessarily. The swiss fans weren't a threatening force toward Rooney in the way that the Everton ones are, exacerbated with the history Rooney has with Everton that doesn't exist with the Swiss.

Good move by Fergie I think. Everton's fans were getting themselves properly worked up around this game, and were entirely focused on Rooney. This would have completely pissed on their bonfire and left them feeling a bit flat.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson explains the omission of Wayne Rooney from his squad to face Everton: "We made the decision simply because Wayne gets terrible abuse here and we're not going to subject him to it. We have got a fantastic squad so we are using it. Wayne will play against Rangers in the Champions League on Tuesday."
