These jocular responses make me wonder..... are you lot living in a computer-game world or something?

Got any more, like about Al-Quida execution victims or something?

From a dedicated homophobe who's joked in the past about, amongst other things, the bombing of Dresden, that's a pretty high horse to be riding, IMHO.

f*** me

A young man travelling on a Greyhound bus was stabbed to death and beheaded by a stranger in a horrifying act of apparently random violence.

The incident occurred on a bus travelling from Edmonton to Winnipeg just before 10 p.m. Wednesday.

A man of about 18 who was sleeping with headphones on was suddenly attacked by his seat mate, according to the man who sat directly in front of them.

He was stabbed repeatedly with a large hunting knife, sending blood spraying across the interior of the bus. The driver quickly pulled over and passengers fled out the front door.

The man then sawed off the victim's head and carried it to the front of the bus.

The two did not apparently know one another. The victim boarded the bus in Edmonton, one witness said, and the attacker boarded in Manitoba.

A standoff with police ensued until about 1 a.m. local time.

One man was taken into custody.

Garnet Caton, 26, was sitting in the seat in front of the attacker.

"I was just reading a book and all of a sudden I heard a guy screaming. I turned around and the guy sitting right beside me was standing up and stabbing another guy with a big Rambo knife," he said.

"Right in the throat. Repeatedly."

The man wielding the knife had a shaved head and was wearing sunglasses, he said.

"He looked totally calm. He didn't say a word I don't think to anybody on the bus ... nothing. Just totally calm."

Mr. Caton said most passengers were sleeping at the time and didn't realize what was happening.

"I screamed 'stop the bus!' ... Everybody got the hell off, and people at the front of the bus didn't really understand what was going on. It almost turned into a trample scene there, everybody trying to get off the bus. But the guy didn't care at all. He wasn't concerned with anybody but the guy he was stabbing.

"The guy was totally calm. When he brought the head he looked at us and dropped it. It was like he was having a day at the beach. He couldn't be bothered by anything else."

How can anyone joke about a thing like this. :nono:
Someone is without a Son, THINK ABOUT IT WILL YOU.

I wonder what the world is coming too. It gets to the point where you cannot trust anyone. Even in a crowd, in broad daylight your not safe.

Taken from the rest of the article.

'However, Mr. Day played down the possibility of enacting tough security measures in Canada's bus terminals, similar to what already exists in airports.

“People should always be open to looking at precautionary measures. But let's keep in mind that as bizarre and tragic as this is, it is extremely rare,” Mr. Day said.'

Extremely rare would suggest this is not the first time this has happened!!!

'He also dismissed talk by some opposition MPs of a “knife registry,” saying that millions of them are bought each year simply for kitchen use. He added that there are already provisions in the Criminal Code against crimes and assaults.'

Glad he saw fit to point out that crimes and assaults are illegal. If he hadn't, who knows how many more people would lose their head on a bus!!!!

Fortunately, because of incidents like this, I don't travel by bus!!! There should be more money spent on security measures at all bus stops similar to airports. Unfortunately, bus companies put profit before their customers heads.

Thread closed earlier while I was conducting a reply, so bollocks, I'll paste my response on here, being as this is what it was about.

Yet another thread today, concerned the gruesome and horrific news of some poor young lad/man, 18 years of age, who was stabbed and the beheaded on a bus in Canada, less than 24 hours ago. Incredulously, so many posters, on this glorious board, chose to make truly pathetic jokes and statements. Among those, I,m so sorry to see, was the ever popular and illustrious Easy 10. Astonishing, that he could be so glib, when I believe he has a young son ..(9/10 ...?) himself. Does he think his son will never reach 18...? ......and yet, he has the audacity, to go on the thread about the poor lad who was hit by a car in Chalky Road today and be sympathetic.....! Those posters, who made their dreadful jokes and comments, so soon after the event, clearly have issues they need to deal with.

"ever popular and illustrious" ?? :lolol: Do me a favour.

Look, you probably have a point. I did indeed make a glib, throwaway remark on that thread about the guy who had his head cut off ("is he dead ?" and the serrated thing I think was the comment). Rightly or wrongly, I didn't feel particularly affected by that story because (a) it happened across the other side of the planet, and (b) it was so bizarre as to be barely believable (although I clicked the link later and read it to confirm).

At the end of the day though, this is an insignificant messageboard full of insignificant blokes like me hovering over a keyboard, bored at work all day. I remark on these type of stories confident in the knowledge I will not be actually be upsetting anyone who is directly linked with the murder that took place in Canada.

The Chalky Road thing today, to me, is a whole different ballpark though. I'll be following the news on that daily, hoping that lad pulls though. Hypocrite ? Suppose so, I dunno. I don't give a toss if thats what you or anyone else thinks though, frankly. I don't feel the need to justify myself to anyone on here.

(Which is, I suppose, what I've just gone and done. f*** it though - its a poxy messageboard ffs)

Yes, because its practically getting to be a weekly occurance whereby somebody has their head hacked off on a 700x to Portsmouth via Arundel isn't it.

I'd love it; a metal detector, x-ray machine for bags and at least 2 security guards at each and every bus stop in the country. Obviously the only reason they aren't doing it is because the selfish bastard bus companies don't want to the spend the money: it's definitely not at all impractical.
