Yep, I mentioned elsewhere but imagine being so oblivious to the world you live in that, on £400k a week, you talk about how useful the Saudi money would be.

When my missus wanted an exotic adventure, it wasn't 2 years in an alcohol free desert whilst having to keep her hair covered, it was a Greek waiter in Rhodes for a ten minute knee trembler.

potentially huge news, depending on the outcome, city are a horrible club who represent everything that’s wrong with football and i hope they lose. obviously a petulant tit-for-tat in response to the 115 charges

The (laughable) point is that City are (as well as prosecuting this case) claiming that they didn't break them.

This league needs a civil war to end up with some order eventually.

Just way too much shady people, clubs and money.

Obviously the outcome of this lawsuit won't really be about the 115 charges or anything of that sort, but weighing the pros and cons of damaging the English flagship (the PL) or damaging UAE-UK relations. Will certainly be interesting to see.

Overall the league is in a sad state, the worst since its exception. Of course there were plenty of bad, shady or even criminal owners back in the 90s and early 00s as well, but its becoming the standard now.

Manchester City and Newcastle barely needs a mention. Property development project Chelsea FC tanking finances so the CPO will agree things they otherwise wouldn't. Nottingham.. you don't even want to know. Everton almost bought by some sort of scammers and probably ending up with something similar. And thats just some of the obvious wonky ones. If you really want to clean up football, you have to consider if its acceptable with club owners also owning betting companies like Smartodds or Starlizard... and you can find similar question marks about nearly (if not all) every club.

This mess has been coming for a long time and while I'm not overly optimistic, it could eventually lead to a fairer and cleaner football. Or it could mean more people say "f*** the Premier League" and spend more time and resources on grassroot football.

Football is a game that was invented to be a fun, healthy way for young men to stay fit, learn how to collaborate and grow into good people.
What the f*** happened to that?

I suppose they have to come out with stuff like 'tyranny of the majority' to embed the victim mentality in their fan base. Poor, plucky little City.

City are in essence saying that they don't accept the rules of the competition as they stand. Until this is then resolved, surely their position in the Premier League is now untenable?

Yep. I won’t accept whoever gets voted in at the next election, as that will just be tyranny of the majority!

Why are we only finding out about this a few days before the court hearing? I thought these things were months in the making?
I'm going to guess that City wanted to keep it quiet hence, according to the Athletic, it is due to be heard in a two week private arbitration. Someone spilled the beans to the Times!!
