Not a bad analogy. Sadly.Man City breaking the rules is like Donald Trump breaking the Law . Just when you think you got them they wriggle free
1?Deserved Punishment - Relegtion
Likey Punishment - a 1 point deduction, suspended for a year.
FFP - What IS THE POINT?
A link pinched from redcafe. The EPL and Citeh were in a court battle for over 2 years, to get Citeh to release documents. It was deliberately held BCD, until a judge ruled that others could attend.
This flies in the face of one of Citeh’s belligerent salvos today, that “… particularly given the extensive engagement and vast amount of detailed materials that the EPL has been provided with”.
They left out the bit that they fought the release for years.
Has he broken the law yet?Man City breaking the rules is like Donald Trump breaking the Law . Just when you think you got them they wriggle free
Not so sure that EPL are necessarily that invested with City.Would be nice to see them dumped into the national league or league 2, reminiscent of Rangers in Scotchland. I'd be amazed if it happened though, PL too invested in City to allow it.
Maserati darling x
Or the FA etc could just enforce the rules in place.
I agree with this. If the PL have gone this far it's been made public it's because they've got enough evidence that City are guilty. If City get off the hook this time the PL will look incompetent and weak and I don't see that as likely now.If they have direct evidence that Mancini was being paid an additional "shadow contract" from a source in Abu Dhabi, and that their sponsorship deals were being artificially inflated, and that players were being paid extra on the snide (aka Chesterfield) without it being declared (amongst other stuff), then yep. I can actually see them getting clobbered.
I don't see the EPL bringing on a case of such serious allegations and magnitude unless they are ROCK SOLID on their findings, because they know full well City will throw all the best paid lawyers at it. UEFA f***ed it up and backed off. Why would the EPL do the same unless they were certain this case had legs ?
I don't know that there is, but whenever something like this has happened before, in this country or elsewhere, there's not been the suggestion that the lower league won't take the club.is there anything in EFL rules that says that they would have to accept City if they are indeed thrown out of the PL? If its a points reduction to ensure relegation there are probably contractual obligations , but if they were expelled from the league, surley they would have to apply to join the EFL? or National League !
I'm sure it could be arranged - it was done in Scotland perfectly satisfactorily, so why would there be problems here? Besides, it would be very much in the EFL's interest to accept them - hugely increased interest in Leagues 2 and 1, and The Championship, probably in successive seasons, and a cash boost for the clubs wth the larger gates - the other clubs would have a sold-out stadium for every home match.is there anything in EFL rules that says that they would have to accept City if they are indeed thrown out of the PL? If its a points reduction to ensure relegation there are probably contractual obligations , but if they were expelled from the league, surley they would have to apply to join the EFL? or National League !
I fear you're right.Beam me back into this thread in 2035 please
Nothing, absolutely nothing will ultimately happen to City.
The Premier League allowed a despicable bunch to take over Newcastle, and will be fighting legally against one of the wealthiest nation states out there.
Nothing will ultimately happen here.
Comparisons to Rangers in the Monkey Tennis League are worthless unfortunately.
