Hopefully they push back any points deductions to next season.

I know far too many unbearable Arsenal fans to have them win the PL this year.
What if we finish 5th? I'd take a tainted top four finish if they got points knocked off.

Does anyone actually believe anything will be done about it?

Isn't this the same City and the same period of time when they were removed from European football, only for them to be re-instated weeks later.

The Premier league will do nothing about it, a transfer ban for 3 windows is about the best I'm hoping for

What should really happen is they get bumped down 4 tiers of football to play in League 2 until they can work their way back up the leagues. That should be the only punishment that teams fear, points deduction will only keep them out of Europe for 1 season

On here I previously posted that they have the highest ‘commercial’ income in world football. That’s given them a huge edge over everyone else.

It simply stands out as bullsh1t. JCL’s without a huge global fanbase, there’s no way they have anywhere near the commercial pull of Real, Manure and Barca.

Now it unravels.

The dumb thing about those transfer bans is that they allow one huge spend before it takes effect.

Chelsea did exactly that.

Only in football!

If we’re just talking points deductions ……

Realistically, how many points would City finish ahead of us with no points deduction? 20? 25?

So they would have to get deducted, what from my memory, is a record amount of points for any chance of a benefit to accrue to us.

What is more significant is a possible European ban for next season. If that is the case then the place might go to the next placed PL club, I suppose that would be a UEFA decision. Can someone help me with what the precedents are here? I usually don’t care about the travails of these sort of clubs

Just fine and a strict telling off from the FA and they’ll be back to buying whoever they want this summer including the possibility of our Mac.

When athletes use performance enhancing drugs Olympic medals are rescinded and offenders banned.

Surely, if proven to have broken the financial rules to enhance performance, honours should be rescinded.

Until there is a proper deterrent nothing will change.

Hasn't there been about a 6-year investigation into their alleged breaching of FFP regulations? Are you telling me that they've finally been accused of something we all know has been happening for years?

I look forward to the investigation into Chelsea being concluded in 2029
The irony being that some of their recent purchases will still be under contract!

This FFP rule has been an absolute joke. Hasn’t prevented anything. Transfer fees and wages are just as ridiculous as ever.
Feels like Brexit. Nothing has changed.

A transfer ban is pretty worthless when you have a squad bloated with talent to chose from.

If guilty, I hope it is proven quickly and there is a points deduction or even relegation. Then again, I hoped for these punishments when they tried to join a breakaway league and ended up with a £3.3 million fine instead.

Most importantly, they should be forced to sell enough players to comply with FFP for future seasons.

I have always quite liked Man City, just for not being United. That's starting to change.

How does this compare to what Juventus did for their 15 point deduction?
