I don't normally do this but, feck off you Dick.....Ban me if you see it appropriate Mr Mods

Why are you getting so aggressive?

By all means have a pop at rival fans who come on here taking the piss out of our club but there's no reason to get nasty with someone expressing a view on a team entirely unrelated to ours.

Personally I can't see the problem with following a Scottish / Welsh / Spanish team too. I always lookout for Rangers results but I'm not going to get in a strop about someone on here hoping threy get knocked out. Each to their own opinions. As long as I'm free to slag off the other lot when they play!!

Actually just remembered they'll get in to the Europa League knockout round now cause of this :(

Is that right? The Gers would have had to go through another qualifier to get to the CL. I thought tonight is them out of Europe?

I've never really experienced English-Scottish rivalry
I'm much less patriotic than i used to be, and I don't care as much for the English football team
I generally wish well for Scottish teams in Europe and I love the passion of Rangers and Celtic fans
Thought it was great when Aberdeen won the Cup Winners Cup years ago
I guess it is because I haven't been to an England Scotland game before
We hardly ever play each other anymore and the Scottish national team has gone downhill in recent years so they are off the radar more now
I think living so far away from Scotland has another bearing on things, I hate the French a lot more

Nope. I rather like Scotland as a country, I just don't like their football. A league dominated by two supposed giants from the same city who seem to exist purely to cater for fans of different religious denominations doesn't seem much fun to me.

Don't get me wrong, I love a good footballing rivalry but why bring religion into it? It's pretty pathetic

Spot on. YES.

Rangers do have a particularly bigoted set of fans. After all, why were none allowed in the stadium today - because of their sectarian singing. Glad they're out...

Yep, totally bigotted. All that waving of the Union flag etc. Much prefer the other lot. Waving the tricolour & singing songs in praise of the IRA is much more acceptable. Maybe if we ask nicely they might make up a little ditty up in praise of the bombing in Brighton?

The losing teams from CL Qualifying R3 go to Europa qualifying R4 (the round before the groups) and the losers from CL qualifying R4 go to the Europa groups. So they still need to win another set of games to get in to a group stage but they're now exactly where Celtic are in the qualifying system.

Had the Europa winner's place not been needed this year, Celtic and Rangers would have been shifted back one round, e.g. CL R2 and Europa R3. If the Scottish teams screw en masse up as looks quite likely and is to form in recent years, their entries will be back to CL R2 and Europe R2 and R1 for every team though. Finally proving their league to be tin pot pretending to be world class...

edit: on the other hand, if they manage to scrape up ONE place in the rankings, they'll get TWO champions league entries. However that'd basically require Celtic or Rangers to win the Europa League.

But its related to me !! Malmo should have had 9 men as well, midfielder petulantly kicking out at a Rangers players exactly the same as Beckham v Argentina. Ref bottled it !

I tried to get Albion v Spurs on the Internet and ended up watching St Johnstone v Rangers. the football was quite good, if not incisive. Nobody actually got near goal very much.

They all want to play the Spanish/Uruguyan way now. It will be much closer. Still need somebody to put the ball in the back of the net. And the two holding midfielders is just fashion.

Oh I was waiting for the first victim to ask this....Clearly you are uneducated in this matter. So let me spell it out, there is a tin-pot organisation that seems to have appeared called (FARE) Football Against Racism in Europe. Now at the away game last season versus PSV both fans sung their songs and got on together throughout the few days Rangers were there. I can state that that the UEFA delegation who attended this match (which is on record) were more than happy with both sets of fans behavior that evening. But lo and behold we now have an organisation called FARE who have links to Glasgow Celtic's board of directors and despite repeated (8 in total) emails and letters to FARE I am yet to receive a response to my questions. As an open forum for discussing any problems they don't even have a phone number to call. I wouldn't take this lightly because in their eyes call someone a pikey, it could result in your teams fans being banned for a game or two. Here's the site, you judge for yourself

Football Against Racism in Europe About FARE

And just for the record those fluffy nice sheltic fans do this

Because the UVF are so much nicer?

Scotland is a wonderful country. Both beautiful and very friendly. However, blighted by the Glaswegians. Delighted to see Rangers dumped out. I am crossing my fingers that Celtic will follow soon.

Not sure why any British person wouldn't want them to get through. Really hope they do it. Been to a Rangers match & had a great time in the pub drinking with their fans. Brilliant bunch (except maybe when let loose in Manchester!?!)

Being British has nothing to do with it. I wouldn't want them to get through against most any opposition because I detest what they stand for and how they ( and their mirror image in green) are sucking the life out of Scottish football.
