I'm up for that one.

It's not a daft idea by any stretch of the imagination. The amount of noise I make at a football match is directly related to the number of pints I've had before hand.

How's about whistles?

Yep remember the atmosphere that was created at the Goldstone with the whistle protest. Very effective. Sounded like the San Siro.

Whistles for everyone I say!!

But that just sends everyone to the loos early before the first half (Bakesy would need to go twice)

I've got a wooden rattle.

I did start a couple of chants last week. :O

Wooden rattle? Blimey!! How old is that!!

Showing your age Yorkie!:lolol:

Funnily enough I only bought it 3 years ago in Germany.
I did have one back in the 60's though. In fact I had two. One was painted blue and white for Saturdays at football and the other one, gold and black for the ice hockey on Sundays.

it is interesting to hear that people think it makes a difference without a roof. you would be surprised. at pitch level the noise travels quite well, yes it isnt as good as a roof, but it isnt a waste of time.

Can the Mods make this stick? We need to get co-ordinated here, methinks, and mustn't let the good ideas already generated just get forgotten.

We don't need drums or bands or anything like that.

Just cast your minds back to the Leeds game, Withdean was buzzing so much so even Blackwell remarked it acted like a 12th man for us........Two things !

1) Lets sell out, everyone on here needs to make an effort to go, I'll be there.

2) Treat it like a cup tie

Regarding balloons, my supplies come from the trade, and work out at about 6p each. I'm prepared to bring (and pay for) around 1,000 myself. However, I was thinking that I could actually sell some more, if the club allowed me to. I was thinking of buying say a further 2,000 or so and bagging them up in bags of 10 or 20, and flogging them off. I don't want to make a profit, just want to help generate some atmosphere. Any thoughts?

Bout time someone got thinking about this. Can the Argus have another "Make some Noise" campaign (not amazingly effective, but worth a try).

I think the Argus "Prayer Mat" campaign might be worth another go

Given that Andy Naylor obviously reads NSC, and that we all now love him, hopefully he'll write a couple of stirring articles on Weds/Thurs, and get his Editor to do some sort of new twist on the Prayer Mat theme for Saturday......

Actually the 'prayer mat' didn't work.
We lost that match :lolol: :lolol:

Typical of football though that when you lose a couple of matches, you feel as though you will lose the next 10 and when you win a game then you feel as though you can win them all.
