Sorry - in what way does anything there show "Its a myth that macs are safer from Malware"? It doesn't...

Are Macs capable of being infected with malware? Yes they are and I've not suggested otherwise.

Are Macs still safer than a PC? Yes they are

all true but the last part, things are changing.

Imagine if all the forums on the internet filled up with these threads every time Windows had a security problem. There'd be no room for anything else at all, anywhere.

I did find it interesting how so many people got infected with the Trojan being so picky, though (according to F-secure). Apparently without getting the admin password it would abort itself if the person had either Skype or Microsoft Office installed. And if someone did enter their password, it would just target Safari (I don't really understand why people use Safari, except that they are unaware of alternatives or too lazy to try them. Then again, Safari has always irritated me with some of the annoying quirks it has).

Still, it's hilarious when people try to use a single, 600,000-machine Java exploit to try and undermine the claim that Macs are more secure.

I have noticed a lot of Flash updates recently. Following these steps suggest my Mac's are clean though.

I work in an IT Support department, the glee some people show when one virus/trojan is identified on Mac OS is quite something, especially on the same day they probably clean a Windows machine of like hundreds of malware and virus'. :p
