everybody needs a kick up the arse every now and again, no matter how well they are playing - i would prefer elphick to get one before he does become complacent, and maybe that is what adams was thinking as well

I think Lynch and Elphick could complement each other pretty well as the attributes each lacks are pretty much the qualities the other has.

I've seen them play together a number of times and whilst this is great theory their combined lack of experience tends to impede them. A number of times I have seen them both get in a muddle whilst an opposing strike waltzes in between them. I think it is one of the other with a more experienced head (i.e. Hawkins) to guide. Maybe in time they can both play together but at the moment I feel they are both learning their trade.

I also think Lynch is the more talented but his mind goes AWOL at times. But, I think concentration is an easy quality to coach into someone.

Adams said: “What I wanted to do was show people to be a regular in the side they have to perform on a weekly basis and not think all they have got to do is turn up and put the shirt on. People can make their own judgements on the team selection.”

what do people make of this then?

Not Lewes
Reading Joel's comments in the Argus, he was testing the water to see whether the club really want him - that's all. There are better ways of going about it, but he has his answer and that's that.

We are blessed in the CB department at the moment. As we got closer to the season starting, I had a feeling that we would be more difficult to beat, rather than play scintilating football, which is exactly how it's gone, and how I expect to go without a quality midfield addition.
