i surpose elphick will get the knock as lynch did though if the hawk and lynch make a good partnership

Adams has enough savvy to handle it. If Hawkins has a hernia problem there will be plenty of other opportunities.

Just got back myself, Lynch was contender for MoM in my eyes but I gave my vote to McLeod. Lynch looked very solid at the back, yes a number of clearances were poor and ended up going out for throw-ins but apart from that looked top notch. However it's going to be difficult for MA to get rid of Elphick or Hawkins, considering the form both of them are in.

Lynch & Hawkins in the centre with Elphick at right back, Whing right midfield, or even holding midfield like El Abd does just in front of back 4, very defensive, but possible if Virgo is out for 3 weeks as has been suggested.

Elphick at right back? Madness.

A full back requires 4 attributes; pace, good distribution, an attacking instinct and the ability to time a tackle. Elphick has ONE of these.

Elphick was dropped to the subs bench for believing he could just turn up against Orient.

This is, I take it, purely speculation on your part as opposed to a FACT you have gleaned from someone ?

I know.It has only taken ten years to find out Mayo has none of them either.

Some people.....

Not to mention that excellent goal line clearance against Southend.

Its probably unfair to PRESUME, but I'm going to assume that the 'just turning up' comment was aimed at somebody other than TE. There is a limit to how critical you can possibly be of a centre half when you've kept a clean sheet, and I'm 100% confident he was left out last night purely to give Lynch a run out.

Well thats not what Uncle C is announcing.
Elphick was benched last night as a PUNISHMENT for his performance against Orient, apparently.

Lynch did play well last night, especially as he's not played first team football for a while. He must be the fastest player on our books.

I think Lynch and Elphick could complement each other pretty well as the attributes each lacks are pretty much the qualities the other has.

OK I will try and paraphrase what Adams said

1. He would put out his strongest team for the JPT.

2. Some players who played against Orient were now out of the first team followed by the statement that players need to be aware that just turning up for a match is not good enough. He was very clear in linking the two. Just go watch the video on Seagulls World.

I think we're very lucky to have such a strong competition for places. And our record of only conceding two goals so far says it all. I don't think MA will change things from Orient - but Lynch keeping the pressure on can only be good for the team and obviously, football being football, his chance will come.

Fair enough. I didn't hear the Adams interview last night.

Fair enough. I didn't hear the Adams interview last night.

But you must have heard Lynch play amazing on the radio, he was so good he may even get called up for England. The best bit was when he covered all 10 outfield places at the same time, starting and finishing a 61 pass move that lead to M.C. Leod scoring from 57yards with a rocket into the top corner which left the keeper swiping at thin air

Sadly I didn't hear this, no.
But of course I naturally ASSUMED that Lynch played amazing last night because he is, well, amazing.
