The Large One
Who's Next?
At the risk of asking a dumb question, are we talking about Lynch in the El-abd role or the Hammond role?
Sounds intriguing, and I'm sure it's Wilkins' long-term goal - but, for me, not just yet.or perhaps a back four of Whing, Elphick, Lynch, Rents .
Whing needs to improve though.
lynch has almost 2 seasons of experience
whing has championship experience
elphick is class
rents is a really handful
butters... sorry butts, but there is nothing you can do that hinsh or lynch cant do anymore
Don't underestimate the influence of Butts on his central defensive partner, Elphick is good but inexperienced, i think an old head like Butts this season could bring him on leaps and bounds......alongside Lynch is for the future but not right now
1 This would give us more pace at the back...... I do think we should try Lynch & Elphick as a central pairing. If it doesn't work, then we know that Guy can come back in a do a good job, but we should at least give it a go.
I don't doubt that Butters' experienced has and will continue to help the young players learn, but he can't go on forever, right now we have two excellent young centrebacks, I think it would be foolish NOT to give them a chance to play together. That's not to say Butters would never get his place back, just that it should be tried.
