I love times like this.

It's like with McGhee 18 months ago. Things not going well, so NSC suggests a solution. Or rather, it comes up with 146 solutions, most of which heavily conflict with each other.

The poor manager doesn't stand a chance...

Don't really see how playing two defenders (even a technically good one like Lynch, he is still a defender) in midfield and one up front will solve our creativity problem, also Whing is suspended, and Reid not match fit.

Only way to get Reid match fit is to play him !!

I cannot really understand why Reid isn't in the team... we are so short in the midfield and he has quality and experience, both qualities we are sadly lacking...

Lynch is our best defender and i would imagine has been coached as so since a early age to move him into a new position would be a short term solution and probably not the best move for his career either

indeed, witness the example of el-abd.

I would guess it is because they coaching staff still do not feel he is 100% fit. After all we have had so many problems with knee injuries in the last 4 years, they probably do not want to rush things too much.

I would hope that neither Reid or Hinshelwood are even considered for the frist team until they are 100% fit. These two players have the ability to make a MASSIVE impact on our season and must be seen to be completely match fit before they are risked.

Whilst I agree with that, desparate times call for desparate measures... we need someone in there who can hold the ball and play a pass... we have nobody else who seems to be able to do this at the moment... have to say, a new signing would maybe be a better option....

I have to say at Crewe for the 15 minutes he was on he looked off the pace and his slip led to the player being able to cross for the winning goal. Also from what I heard about the reserve game the other week, he still looked short of match fitness.

Hmmm.... if I were Wendy, I would be VERY tempted to get Reid (not Hinsh) back in now... Wendy hasn't got many games left if results don't improve... alternatively, a new signing is required (as I said, this is a better option, but Wendy's track record on getting players in quickly isn't great)...

When Reid is ready, he can do the business. It's just not yet.

Or at least it wasn't as of last week in the reserves.

Then he needs games...

What I do find quite concerning is that we can't find any decent loan signings what with the amount of Premiership sides only an hour up the road. There MUST be a midfielder at one of Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal, Fulham, Reading and West Ham. Not to mention Pompey just down the road too.

Considering our connections (Curbishley, Brady, Keeley, Coppell), we should be able to get hold of a decent enough midfielder.

Correct, but not necessarily in the first team where his lack of fitness could prove to be an even bigger liability.

Maybe, but the current midfield will continue to be a disaster with El Strop in situ...
