145-6 at the close - another shocker.

Wonder if Robbo will blame that demon Taunton pitch, that fearsome graveyard for so many batsmen, for this one

We are going down, need something special to start winning games playing like this

Wonder if Joyce is considering dropping himself - he's had a shocker. And Machan has done nothing since that ton in his first innings.

Still bemused by lack of overseas player - I'm sure Magoffin turned English last month so why not find another batsman. Could Bailey play in the CC?

If the weather in Somerset was anything like that in Sussex today then it was a very useful toss to win.

I am a Sussex fan and a supporter of Mark Robinson but not blind to reality.

Our batting line-up has struggled this year and the mitigating circumstances are substantial. Today is another bad day at the office, to add to a longish list, but nobody in the history of the game would have been queuing up to bat today.

884-37 around the country today in the Championship.

Accounting for the Taunton factor then Sussex are only a couple of wickets away from "par" for the conditions.

An independent report mentions very difficult batting conditions, so the result is not unexpected. Perhaps more the issue is what will out bowlers do? We went into this match with only 4, three seamers and a spinner, of which probably only 1 is first division quality.

No need to panic, Luke Wells was saying on Radio Sussex this morninghow Sussex still have good batsmen to come and that he wad confidant wecould post a " target " ....so that's alright then.

Has Zaidi been given a bat to use today or is he wafting a stick of Rhubarb around ? His scoring rate is glacial.
