I know you've said you know its a low blow, but still why the f*** would you bother saying that? Your losing an argument so you go and pull out some petty jealous jibe about us having to travel to Gillingham for 2 years. Your a complete cretin now f*** off this board you tosser.

It didnt offend me.

Brighton got gates of less than 10,000 when last in the top flight also.
I know. But Albion had, what, one or maybe even two games where the gate didn't hit 10,000, primarily because we were doomed to relegation from a long long way out. But Luton didn't even average 10,000 for two or three seasons at the top table.

The last time we were promoted from this league at the goldstone (1987-88) we didnt average 11,000.
Indeed, but football was nothing like as popular in the days when we had Garry Nelson leading the line. I think we'd put a couple of thousand on those gates, to be honest. To put that figure into perspective, our average gates were better than that of two or maybe even three top flight clubs that season.

Did you actually read the rest of my post. I basically unzipped the trousers of BHAFC and started giving it a Blow job, such was the extent of my praise.

My point was that a more ignorant opposition supporter, would have taken the fact that you did have to travel to Gillingham as evidence of Brighton being a tin-pot club. I know different.

No we had SEVERAL gates that were very low when relegation wasnt on the cards hence why Mike Bailey got the bullett because the style of football was driving the punters away.

So its O.K for Brighton to get low gates when the games wasnt popular but not Luton? If they got low gates during that time they are a small club with crap support? Thats a well thought out argument.

Must admit I loved '1-0 to the talaban (sp)' a few yrs back :lolol: The reference was to the skum terrorists from Luton - not a particularly mallicious chant IMO.

That was BRILLIANCE, even though we lost that one 3-0 (i think)

Eh? Are you trying to pick an argument with me because I've completely owned you in the past or something?

I don't think I ever said it wasn't OK. I simply laughed when that Luton fan said Luton are a bigger club than Brighton, and packed that up with anecdotal evidence that their top flight gates were miles lower than ours, shortly after making the point that Luton are a little club, primarily because they're currently non league shite in a shit ground with no plans to move.

Your argument is moving about all over the place. Are you now saying that being a bigger club is all about how you are doing now? I thought it was history?

If you are tallking about how we are doing now? then Luton are doing better than Brighton because are gates are higher?

Or are you talking about how it will be in the future?

I was merely pointing out that your 'anecdotal evidence' was incorrect on two counts. To be pointing the finger about being a non-league club when this club came very close 2 seasons on the trot to going out the league is foolhardy, and to back it up by making the point that they have a shit ground with no plans to move is idiotic when this club had ONLY plans to move for more thann 10 years and still would only have plans but for the actions of one man.

And by the way no one has, or will, ever 'own me'.

I'm bored of this now, but I guess it's all about perception rather than anything concrete. Your gates when you were in the top division were complete shite, your gates at times when you were doing similarly to us have always been worse than ours, and in the present you are currently non-league with no new stadium on the horizon. You have been more successful than us though, but then most clubs can say that. Albion have to be one of the biggest underachievers in the game, along with maybe Hull, Plymouth and Bristol City.

I do feel for your support though. Not only have you been through dozens of years of stadium plans falling through, but you've just had a competitor land in the big new town next door, and they've built a tidy stadium ideally suited to a provincial club. If I was a Luton fan, I think I'd hate the MK Mongs more than Watford.

Is that what owning looks like?

A complete climb down and an apology?

No you weren't, you were picking a fight, because my anecdotal evidence was not incorrect.
1) Brighton never averaged under 10,000 in the top flight, whereas Luton did. You pointed out we'd had gates under 10,000. I don't disagree. We had two games with such gates. Not 10 or 11 games, for three seasons running.
2) You pointed out that Brighton averaged just under 11,000 last time we were promoted from this division at the Goldstone. Again, I don't disagree with you, and I still maintain we'd be averaging 10-12,000 if we were still there. Not exactly contentious stuff though is it?

And what is so idiotic in pointing out that a non league club in a terrible ground makes a club a small one? I'm not denying that could have been Albion at all. You're talking as if I'm responsible for this state of affairs rather than simply observing it. Very weird.

You would know if I was picking a fight. My point is, and was, if you are going to throw 'facts' at someone in what really is a pointless argument, get them right.

You are responsible for your comments. You arent observing you played a part in a discussion, was challenged and dint like it.
