As bad as it was this is probably pretty similar to how Liverpool felt last season after we battered them at The Amex. Let's see what happens Saturday before completely throwing toys out the pram.
Sorry mate we had a better team than Liverpool last season
we were just crap against a team who will probably go down

Bringing them through gradually yes, but through necessity starting most games due to injuries, no.
Agreed, not the plan. But then if you had senior pros to back up every position, the youngsters would never get to play. Being realistic about a club not owned by an oil state & with a stadium capacity below 50,000, just been very unlucky to have so many out simultaneously I think.

Not through outlay though, our squad depth has come from kids - literally. Amazing they’ve got us this far. Europa League knock outs, FA cup 5th round and 8th. Pinch yourselves given we’ve been playing 2 or more teenagers in every game.
Just shows how weak Our squad is , not enough players, if we have to keep relying on teenagers

Tis but a scratch. . . .he wasn't the only player who wanted to come off. I did feel for Gross and WBG, like single mums with 3 kids each this evening.
Gross had a mare in fairness, Wee Billy was head and shoulders above him imo, but I was watching in disbelief so I could be wrong.

More than happy to keep going.

We’re in the knock out stages of Europe. Top half on the prem with an injury list like we’ve never seen.

Playing some of the most talked about football in the world and attracting talent from the world over.

Is all of that irrelevant because of an awful 90 mins? I’ll take a Luton away and Everton at home performance a couple times a season if it allows for the dreamworld we have been treated to over the last 2 years or so.

Do I think we could have invested a bit more this Jan? Maybe. But I trust Bloom, and if it that’s condescending the so be it
You're spot on, and I totally agree on all counts.

I want to read other people's opinions and consider them rather than be judged for being a reactionary bellend that takes football far too seriously!

I am quite proud we’ve been fielding such young talent, it’s been thrilling at times, but also perhaps why I’m not entirely surprised or too distraught with that result.

I mean when Hansen said ‘you don’t win anything with kids’ - Beckham, Neville and co. were all 21 or older. We really are playing kids!

Roberto de Zerbi, speaking to BBC Match of the Day:

"We did not play. It was a blackout. We have to remember this day."

"We played badly, not one player played well, and our substitutes too. Everyone has to take responsibility."

"Luton played a great game. We knew how difficult this game would be. I feel sorry for the fans. We are all responsible, myself first of all."

"We are suffering from this result more than people can think."

On whether his team have to respond:

"Of course."

I'm glad that's his response and not to turn the interview on to recruitment

17 points in 16 games. Not relegation form, even without the points we already have. The only defeats before tonight in that run away at Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Villa. Plus loads of players to come back.

It’s lower half form, which is probably the standard of most PL teams with half a first choice side missing for weeks on end.
17 points from 16 games = 1.06 points per game x 38 = 40 points. if it's not relegation, it's not far off it.

That run has been book-ended by thrashings against Villa and Luton and includes games at home to Sheff Utd, Burnley, Fulham and away to Luton, Everton and Palace so it's an even spread of opposition. And nearly every side has had long injury lists this season.

We're obviously not going down this season but our poor form for quite a while is a real worry.

I don’t mind that tbh, at least he understands it’s his fault as well as the players. I don’t doubt he’ll sort it out really.
