You got to love the old boy in the camel coat, comes up to give him a whack with his umbrella.

Love the fat, bald pensioners all running in for a couple of stamps! All it needed was someone to shout bundle!

The assassin didn't seem too fussed and had one old git holding his hand was all yet didn't seem to be trying to get away or put up a fight

Bloody lucky if real, but I think it is a PR stunt. The assassin is speaking Turkish

BBC reporting it so dont think it is a stunt. And in answer to your Turkish comment BBC says "Bulgarian police have detained a man after he pointed a gas pistol at an ethnic Turkish party leader as he was delivering a speech in Sofia.".

How would the BBC know whether it was a stunt or not, they are just going by what their journalists report to them.

There are a few things I find strange about this.

Firstly why would a Turk be so opposed to the Turkish minority party that he would sacrifice his freedom to kill one of its politicians?

Where was security? How did a massive bloke dressed in all-black assassins clothes get past security & 3000 politicians and onto the stage?

What are the chances of a gunman missing not once, but twice at point blank range? Made great footage though.

It's not unknown for minority parties to pull off PR stunts like this, I'm still convinced.

Sorry, my fault. I mistook PR stunt for staged event! I'm sure it was a PR stunt. Loved all those Prescott wannabes!
