LPG conversions O/T

Has anybody had their car converted to LPG, or run their car on LPG?
I'm thinking of having this done as LPG is just over half the cost of unleaded and economy is about the same.
Sadly the government grants for this finished a few years back, but the price to have this done differs enormously with a firm in Littlehampton charging £1200, and one near Leeds who'll do it for under £600.
I'd be interested if the good and great of NSC have any advice/info.....

I've a Transit on LPG since 2005, and was about 45p a litre back then..
LPG is about 80% as petrol, so still saving to be had, but scarcity of LPG fuel stations should be noted.
The littlehampton place is well known and pretty good as i recall, but Edward at http://www.mobilelpg.co.uk/ is someone worth talking to. He will travel to London from Shropshire (!) and installed a 2nd tank for me, so may well do the whole lot for you..

What vehicle you thinking of doing it in ?

My concern is that usually you forgoe a spare wheel for the gas tank, and I already don't have a spare wheel, and cannot spare any boot space for the tank.
