Loyalty points carry over

I know there have been a number of opinions voiced here (most very sensible) as to what happens to the points that we have earned from the 2011-2012 season, but is there anything official yet as to what will happen to my 1600 ish points next term?

Sorry if fixtures.

couldn't find any thing, seagulls.co.uk still only has details of loyalty points for 2011/12. Shirley should have info in place before now!

I don't see why anything needs to happen. Let's just say we draw Crawley away in the second round of the League Cup and get allocated 700 tickets. They will need all of last season's data to work out who can buy the tickets, so to suggest it's going to be wiped or reset is ludicrous. I hope they will do it like the FA run the England scheme and choose a set period for which your points stand. It would make sense to me for all 2011-12 points to be wiped at the start of the 2013-14 season, so you are always carrying the points you have built up from the current season plus the previous one.

This is the most sensible solution. It solves the kerfuffle of any big cup draws at the start of the season, whilst meaning that people aren't getting priority because they used to attend a lot even though they haven't attended for years.

That does make sense. Although, I think if they do do that, they should make the amount of loyalty points gained by having a season ticket last year lower, to make it fair for those that went to every home game and some away last season. It would also mean that people that have got a season ticket this year that didn't have one last year but go to most cup and away games can catch up with those who had a season ticket last year and didn't go to any cup and away games.

Good idea.

Insider has said on ATC that an announcement would be made, but no sign yet.

Fortunately Gus has said that he is not interested in the cup this season, so shouldn't be an issue anyway.

But if we draw a big name he may well change his mind.

For next season I suspect we'll have a scheme called something like "One Seagull". The purpose of this sort of scheme is you pay a subscription at the start of the season for a certain level of membership. The higher the membership, the higher priority you get. I believe at Tottenham, for a completely random example, there are 3 levels of membership and tickets are on sale to the highest first, then second and finally third. If any remain they will go on general sale. I wouldn't be suprised if that happened here. Maybe it would run alongside our current scheme, or maybe it would replace it. Who knows, but I think it will happen soon enough. We'll be told we "need" it.

Agree with what you say - so this would mean the 250 Withdean points being wiped for this coming season.

Although I probably come in the top bracket of point holders, I think it is important it doesnt become a closed shop, where by new younger fans can't start to catch up.

Would also be good if the club could do something similar to the FA, whereby the website shows how many fans have each number of points.

I know some of the uber fans on here would cream themselves at being at the top of the list, but it would help with buying tickets for games that have tiered levels before you can buy. Eg, if you want to sit with friends who have less points. If you can see how many people have the required level of points, you could work out when you need to buy your ticket.

All that said, pretty irellevant as how often do we actually sell out? Twice a season, and never staight away.

And they will call it life membership......and then bring out another sheme a few years later, saying you only paid for the life of the scheme.

There is nothing wrong with current scheme, apart from the levels they set for some games, so why not just leave alone

I would reduce everybodys loyalty points by 50% on completion of each season. You would get recognised for previous attendances, but more so for the recent matches.
