Love it when the bookies get it wrong!

I know it probably doesn't happen that often, but I do love it when the bookies appear to offer silly odds.

I have made just short of £600 tonight on Gremio vs Corinthians, where I managed to get odds of 7/1 on a Corinthians win away to Gremio.

Corinthians are top of the Brazilian league, unbeaten in 9 and Gremio are second - I was tempted to do a draw no bet, but felt it was too good to miss - I did wimp out in the end and traded out for a profit, less £60 than if I had let the bet run, with Corinthians going on to win!

Very happy though...

And yes Ernest - after time :)

This doesn't make sense...

Even if someone had fat fingers/a brain freeze and put up a lay at odds of 7.0 onto the Betfair exchange, it wouldn't sit there, it would mop up all the lower odds backs that were already in the market. The only way it would sit there is if there were no backs at al in the market - and you'd not see that on Betfair for a football match.

So, it could be the Betfair Sportsbook, but they'd claim palpable error if they'd made a mis-price and not honour it.

What were the fixed odds on this match with the online bookies?

I'm surprised the OP got this as well as there are loads of people looking for small discrepancies in the market 24/7.

Looks like best odds of 4.5 before kick-off according to a cache of the OddsChecker cache: https://webcache.googleusercontent....-corinthians/winner+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=uk

So, the price on the exchange was likely to be 5.0ish at a guess.

Corinthians scored in the 52nd minute so I guess it's possible they'd drifted out to 7.0ish at half-time.

The bookies/layers didn't get it wrong though. Betfair is about as close to a perfect marketplace as you can get. A 7.0 or 101.0 shot coming in doesn't mean the price was wrong.

My bet of choice is picking 4-5 games where both score. Usually the odds are abt 8/11 each game, but if you go to summat like the Nigerian Premier league, you'll get 11/5 or longer. 4-5 of those soon notch the odds up, and it's paying off over the season so far.

Ok, my terminology was probably wrong to say "wrong", but it was still nice to benefit from what seemed like such good odds...
