Anyone watching this?

Scary how at ease these people are with the f***ing sick things they've done.

A guy he's just spoken to just said "I'm a child molester" in the same way as a normal person might say "I'm a Brighton fan" or "I'm a bus driver", like it was the most normal thing in the world to him.

I understand that was the answer he had to give to be truthful, but it just seemed so casual, so matter of fact given what is involved.

I like Louis Theroux, I think he is a great presenter.

This is a very difficult subject however at least the USA just don't set them free to re-offend.

I like Louis Theroux, I think he is a great presenter.

Indeed, his documentaries (although difficult to watch at times given the subject matters) are generally interesting pieces of television (not to say that I find paedophilia itself interesting in any way whatsoever).

I think it is the subject matter and the way he deals with it that makes it so interesting.

Hither (sometimes Thither)
When i got run over the other year, i lost all memories of any part of my life. One i was sad to regain was about the time i worked as an msn personal webspace watcher, keeping an eye on what people were plonking in that space. The last month or so was spent tracking paedo sites. The sites were titled deceptively, and it was only in seeing there were about 5,000 members that normally gave away what was inside. We had to check, though, and there'd be images there i dread to ever remember seeing. We'd go off to the pub for lunch and not talk. Just sit there having a pint and a shot or two, then back to the office hoping there'd be no more sites found.
It's an important subject and not one to be silenced. I'm not one for just calling people sick either. We don't know exactly what is in the minds of these people now and it's too easy to call them monsters, even if they are maybe that. It's human instinct, though, to want them as punished as strictly and unforgivingly as possible, and in watching this Theroux thing now i want bad things done to them.

Agreed...Totally..

In my book, their human rights go out the window the minute they commit these type of sick crimes...

That was really tough to watch. I thought Theroux was very objective in the way he spoke to all concerned. Pretty gripping throughout.

Theroux asks all the right questions in a very non judgemental way.

Interesting that none of them really want to escape yet maximum security perhaps to protect them ?

For people like what exactly?

Paedophiles, all sex offenders, rapists, murderers? Does that mean that anyone who has sex under 16 should be killed? What if a 15 year old shags his girlfriend who is also 15, should both of them be killed?

Some people are evil , some people are sick. Are you happy to put the gun to the head of someone and decide who is sick and who is evil ?. Should an evil person be killed by the state ?, many people would say yes. But what about a sick person, someone whose mind processes are not acceptable should they be murdered by the state ?.

This " lets string them all up " blah blah blah is a typical caveman reaction. The basis of a civilised society is to not bring yourself to the level of the offender.
