Just got back from the cinema having seen 'lost in translation' and advise you all to go and see it. A real eye opener and such a contrast to the usual smack, bang, fire, action trash format we are used to in american films. It is actually more like a world cinema production in its pace and direction.

Anyone else seen it ? What did they think ?

I'm disappointed that not one single person has mentioned Swingers was on tele last night.

Admitedly I didn't watch it myself, but that's only because I've seen it 4 or 5 times before. :lolol:

Anyone watch Scarface the other night on Sky Movies ? Now THAT is one quality film.

"Say hello to my leetle friend...."...marvellous.

I also now realise that Vice City on the PS2 is basically based on that film, right down to the music.

Haven't seen yet but can't wait to see Lost in Translation. Most of it was filmed right outside my apartment (if you saw a FCUK store in the background, that's my road).

I want to know what he whispers to her at the end though.

I saw 'Basic' last night, with Samuel L Jacko and John Travolta (well i didnt watch it with them), that is worth seeing, its a lot more than it appears to be, and it has a good twist.
As for 'Lost in Translation' - not yet but may well see it over the weekend.

Yep, saw it last night and thought it was really good. Not what I expected it to be as it wasn't the usual complete happy ending etc. Not sure the Americans will appreciate the ending with the whis[pering but it was pretty cool ending as you can use your own imagination to think what he said.

Scarlett whats her name was fantastic as well.

Had a bit of American Beauty feel for me although I didn't enjoy that film as much as this one.

Easy 10, good shout re: "Scarface"

My brother hit gold last Xmas and gave me the video! Classic film, although still squirm when the "bathroom chainsaw" scene comes on

Yuk!!!!!!!!!

Scarface is a weird one.

Starts off nicely but as he goes on and on it becomes a bit tired i reckon.

Guess its all about opinions Chapman, but the end of the film, when Tony takes on the South Americans in his mansion with the use of his grenade-launching machine gun is quality!!!!

I'm a bit of a Pacino fan. That bloke gets better and better as he gets older. Loved his performance in Devils Advocate - he rescues that film from mediocrity.

At the risk of sounding like a fawning, love pup this morning, Easy 10 you are on fire!!

Devils Advocate, not a Keanu Reeves fan, but what a top film that is

AP plays the role of the devil so well, he's so menacing throughout the film
