Anyone fancy joining me in trying to lose half a stone in November? A bit of pre-Christmas discipline.

All you have to do is post your weight change on here each day in November. No need to fess up your current weight, unless you want to. Just the running total loss (or gain).

A bit of accountability and support could really help.

Yep, I'll join you. Between September 22nd and Christmas I always lose weight. It's an annual thing. Off it comes, on it goes.

I have about 12lb to lose still.

Half a stone is a lot to lose in month. November I normally manage 5lb. But I'll give it a go.

Daily weighing isn't always a good thing though as your weight can increase depending on a number of factors like salt content in the blood and how much water you are holding.

Yeah - I'm up for it.

Good of you to post it a few days before the end of October, too. I can try to really bulk up before the end of the month so it's easier to lose when we hit November.

The immediate problem for me is that I'd already organised a few evenings out/meet-ups in Nov. :( Do me good to come up with
a damage limitation strategy.

I like the idea of doing it as a group, but I started a 2 or 3 months ago, so I'm not sure I can do another 7 lbs.

Also, for those willing, try and do a few weights at the same time, so you lose fat not muscle.

I will give it a go. I am not sure I will be able to lose 7lbs but I could probably do with losing 4. I am in decent looking shape for mid 40s but I have a bad back so I intend to lose a bit of the middle age dad belly and do lots of Pilates. Get back in the habit.

I'm away until 7th November, I'll join in if you let me start with a first weigh in on 8th.

I am going to get a head start and weigh myself in the morning. I have stuffed my face since getting back from my national league north match earlier having heard the equaliser for wolves as I left the ground. I need a reason to be healthy and this works for me.

Yep - count me in. Lost over a stone in the past two months - I need to lose another stone so half a stone isn’t too much but I seem to have plateaued in the past few weeks so the extra incentive will be great.

Today = 107.8 (and it is not muscle) - but after a rather large pasta dish….and stress snacking while watching football …

( have you noticed all the excuses piling in already, before we’ve even started)

I'm game. I will only post my weight on a weekly basis. Do not want to weigh myself daily.

Good luck to all those taking part.

Do you think this might be an opportune time to rethink your username?

That's actually a good point for some people. Weight fluctuates a fair bit on water retention etc, so you want to concentrate on diet and if you're doing it right, don't worry if the weight doesn't seem to be coming off.

Add your weight the way that suits you.

The main thing (for me anyway ) will be to look for some accountability. It suits me to weigh each day - even though there can be volatility - because of the discipline of doing so.

I think you're on the wrong thread, this is the one for losing weight.

I weigh each day, but I know it doesn't suit everyone.

I'm going to a rave next weekend so I'm going to weigh myself before and after just out of curiosity.
12 hours of dancing should at least make a dent in my fat belly
