But, as we both know, your experience of immigration is not typical is it? The folks from the hospital may well all be wonderful and good to their mums - I don't doubt it. But what of areas in the country where the whole landscape has changed and where schools and hospitals are struggling. I was in a school recently where they said that the immigrant children who speak no English will each cost them £3000.00. There were only 2 children involved - and so the cost could be relatively "easily" absorbed but what of schools where we might be talking 50%. I doubt very much if you would be so happy with immigration if you were in another area than Sussex. As A M said - it is so nice around the dinner table with all those lovely people feeling good about themselves, darling.

Don't know whether it's typical or not. It's certainly typical in the area I live in and in all the areas my friends live in. I didn't have a problem with it either when I lived in Birmingham, or Plymouth, or Southampton. And as we now apparently all care only about ourselves in this country, and our own circumstances, then I will just adopt the same approach from now on. Other people's experience of it doesn't bother me.

I'm sure the majority of those kids in those schools that concern you have parents who are paying tax. Maybe our politicians should concentrate on collecting a bit more of that from their mates in big business, and then our schools, hospitals and other services would be able to cope better with catering for Britain's ever-changing population - particularly its biggest financial drain: not migrants, but the increasing numbers of elderly who need to be looked after.

Blimey I think there's many different issues being blurred here. There is no doubt plenty of scarce social housing is being handed over to immigrants, Eastern European and Muslims equally from what I deliver to. Do we think housing/hospitals/schools, paid for by us and our ancestors should be able to be allocated to and used by people before they have made any financial contribution to our society? If mass immigration, rather than targeted, is so beneficial to our society, why is the budget deficit still stubbornly high with 300000 net migration this year? When your own offspring get turned down for social housing that gets turned over to newly arrived immigrants despite you paying thousands of pounds in tax, do you have any right to complain without being branded a racist ?
