Indeed. I'm out.

Improving the infrastructure creates jobs in itself. It puts money in people's pockets that in turn goes back into our economy. More people are paying tax. How has 'austerity' had a positive impact on the national debt? There are no easy answers but it should be possible to strike a better balance than we have at the moment. There are other measures of a country's success than how rich it's making its highest earners - and that's what Britain is geared towards at the moment.
I agree with most of what you say but part of that better balance is having a realistic immigration policy with defined limits. That is part of how we achieve improvements in our society for all and not just the rich who benefit from the cheap Labour and don't use public services. You need to define limits on immigration otherwise you cannot ever achieve balance.

Indeed. As I acknowledged earlier: "More control of immigration to make sure people are contributing positively to our society may have a part to play, but it's just a part".
Control immigration and spend a shit load more on our infrastructure and services, simple really isn't it? Shame those in charge of us don't give a flying f***! Whilst we all argue amongst ourselves they carry on laughing into their pits of money. Things will never change for the better because on the whole the majority of the general public are morons.

X-factor has a lot to answer for.Shouldn't this comment be moved to the X-Factor thread?
Is it simplistic? Surely it's just common sense? You now move to the moron gang congratulations.Yet another who sees everyone else of a different persuasion as a moron; whilst posting something that is absurdly simplistic.

Not a new phenomenon... although the euphemistically named 'white-flight' is a well documented reality... not just a narrative used by the 'Guardian readers' of this world to shout racist and little Englander randomly out into the liberal ether.Immigration down here in Plymouth and the SW is extremely concerning and it won't be long before the people who were born here will lose patience with the influx of middle class white folk from London and the SE moving down here for a better quality of life with their snobbish look at me and look what I have got attitudes, driving like idiots in their BMW's and generally looking down their noses at the poorer and hard working locals.
The sooner they adjust, like I have, to the ways of the janners and fit in the better or they can all clear off back to where they came from.
Have you ever worked with the public? By and large they are morons irrespective of their persuasion.

35 years of teaching and dealing with parents might qualify me. I find your and the other poster's comments arrogant and sad in equal measure. No one disputes that some folk can be very difficult, but that is absolutely no excuse for the drivel that you have come up with. Presumably, by your logic, most posters on NSC are morons?

Have you ever thought of a career change to the diplomatic corps?
