Players we almost signed, at the time I remember really wanting to sign Lorenzo Pinamonte. Obviously we then signed Bobby Z.

Are there any players you thought would be a great signing that then turned out to be turd?

Yeah thanks Ron Noades you poaching the Italian Stallion led to us getting Bobby

In answer to the question, Micky Thomas every single time..twat. I defy anyone to suggest another big name player who turned out to be a bigger pisstaking excuse for a footballer.

Am I correct in thinking he scored the first goal in the football league this century?

At the time when we had no money I thought Geoff Pitcher was going to be a little special. As it turned out we paid something like £55k and he hardly played.

Mark Farrington. £110k from Feyernoord. BIG fee (by our standards at the time), from a BIG club.

BIG fat lump of shit.

I thought the same - i saw 'oh, he's an ex-England C player (or something like that), he'll be pretty handy'. How naive i was.

Aaron Davis. I really thought he was decent. Welsh international too.

I see he signed for Exeter City today after being released by Northampton.

Mick Ferguson has quite a good cv, when he came to us and he wasn't all that. Although he did score the winner at the Den in a 0-1 victory.

Same but that was mainly due to how good he was on Championship Manager.

Kevin McLeod. Great in pre-season. Fat in reality.

Wayne Henderson. Great reputation. Ireland U21. Palmed the ball invariably to opposition strikers.

Federico Turienzo. Exotic name, mysterious background. Poor, poor player.

Maheta Molango. Super start. Er... Thats it.

Colin Kazim-Richards. Signed with great fanfare but extremely temperamental and erratic. Could be amazing, equally, could be abysmal. Gone on to be a better player.

Jason Jarrett. Very excited when he signed, he was a big part of the Wigan team that ran away with the championship one year and embarrassed us at the withdean (3.0 down after 10 minutes i think) but he did absolutely nothing for us. Not sure if he even stated the whole season? ?
