So we have finally made our first signing and Dicker looks set to make his way down South. RS is back from Hols and we draw ever nearer to Pre-Season. I have a feeling next week and there after is going to be very busy and VERY interesting as the big bald fella builds his squad and arranges his backroom staff.

Anyone else feel like this?

And not to mention that Wednesday through to Saturday Sussex CCC will batter the Aussies at cricket!

I agree. Some of our alledged targets have signed for other clubs. Still think we need about 6 further players, a goalkeeper, fullback, 3 midfielders including a playmaker and a striker.
Anyone any ideas on who our targets maybe ?

Almost more interested about what happens back of house than the team at this stage.
So much of what happened last year seemed to revolve around bringing players back too soon from injury; players being patently unfit; seeming lack of support for players who had problems; poor scouting and dubious tactical awareness..............good luck to RS in sorting that little lot out!

Apparently training at Falmer presents the Albion with a number of problems. Malcolm Stuart talked about the issues at a recent meeting of the Albion Historical Society Meeting.
Groundsman all to ready to say pitches are not fit to use, particuarly after heavy rain etc, and Albion are forced to train indoors which presents further problems, and led to a number of injuries last season.Hence this is why the Albion trained at Withdean under Slade a couple of times a wekk near the end of last season.

There was also a theory that pre-season was not hard enough last season and that fitness levels were not what they should have been

Yep, i agree, this will be a busy and interesting week for all concerned with the albion. I think that we will be signing two new players(including Dicker), and possibly waving goodbye to Murray or Lynch.

............not to be repeated hopefully although assuming the manager AND his assistants are responsible for planning and implementing training schedules (particularly pre-season) then we still have two thirds of those responsible available to repeat the problems this season and little time to change anything.

Interesting to see just how tough Slade can/will be.

not sure downlands would be too chuffed with a football team turning up during the school day! Think they do use waterhall a bit or atleast they did when Wilkins was in charge sure I can remember a few interviews coming from there
