there has to be a starting point whereby clubs who use serial entry to administration as a means to escaping debts receive greater punishments. 10 points first time is one thing but currently the second and third admin gets exactly the same punishment (as long as the club is clever enough to exit admin before the start of the following season). If it was 20 or 30 points or possibly guaranteed relegation for a second administration I suspect there would be a dramatic revamping of football financing by clubs for whom it would no longer be advantageous.

The FA and FL must accept some responsibility for this type of situation by their weak leadership. Using Portsmouth as an example had they deducted sufficient point to virtually ensure relegation it would have enabled Portsmouth to sell their highest paid players as they wouldn't have needed them in Div 1 players like Lawrence Halford etc. It would also have done football good by showing that they were going to do something and sad as it may be perhaps they should do the same with Vale ensure they get relegated and have to go non league and rebuild themselves but at rate that they can afford.
