It's this sort of comment from their fan that riles me, make a complete mockery of the league and clubs who don't cheat.

"I would rather we do it this season now we have enough points to avoid relegation when they get deducted.""

Don't you just love the way they make themselves out to be the victims rather than the poor people they owe money to.

They lose 10 points their creditors (including us as taxpayers) lose hundreds of thousands.

The only way to stop this is kicking clubs out the league if they go into Administration. Only that will force clubs to live within their means and find their level, be it non league or premier league.

It all stinks.

They don't need a rich owner we need a system that says based on a rolling three year p&l you must show a profit, this will iron out any "transfer blips", then wages will need to be about 30-35% of income, overheads will need to be controlled .... Oh, just like the f**king rest of business!

there has to be a starting point whereby clubs who use serial entry to administration as a means to escaping debts receive greater punishments. 10 points first time is one thing but currently the second and third admin gets exactly the same punishment (as long as the club is clever enough to exit admin before the start of the following season). If it was 20 or 30 points or possibly guaranteed relegation for a second administration I suspect there would be a dramatic revamping of football financing by clubs for whom it would no longer be advantageous.

Vale issued with a winding up order today by HMRC and have asked the local council to whom they owe over £2m to put them into administration as the only way they can stay alive. The council are their biggest single creditor and they can't apply for admin themselves as they don't have enough directors to make legally binding decisions. Goes without saying that players not paid for this month. There is a real danger that if the Council put them in to admin it will backfire as others look likely to join the action - there seems to be little or no goodwill. If that happens there is a chance they will go bust although there are strong suggestions that there is a local buyer in the offing just waiting for the price of the club to be driven down by the administration. THAT is what is wrong with the system as it will mean everyone loses except the new owner

I don't understand why they didn't just sell Doug Loft in January, would have generated a million easily.

as much as I feel sorry for these clubs, they need to manage their finances correctly and sort themselves out... If you can't afford to pay players £1000 week then you can't pay them £1000 a week. Far too many clubs are living well beyond their means in these troubled times and it has to stop.

Like the rest of the country who "had it good" (apparently according to the politicians) -so has football. If your income is only 500,000 a year you can't spend £750,000.... its simple maths. Now is the time to face up to years of where money was literally thrown at people. it has to be paid back...

Whilst I have some sympathy with the players of the club, Its the painters, maintainance companies, flower arrangers, stationery suppliers, food suppliers and all the other "unseen companies" that have done work forthe club that also don't get paid... all these people did the work in good faith for the club. and should be paid for their efforts.

THis is the same as personal finances of many in this country. ...if you earn £1500 a month and your bills are £1800, eventually your going to get problems.... face up to the consequences of your actions.

The FA should start putting proper measures in place or we are going to lose a great club like Port Vale, its mad in a city where one side has multi millions and the other is on its knees.

They are an the edge of the playoffs by playing players they clearly cannot afford. They are cheating just like Portsmouth.
