This would never have happened if it was Pogles Wood, The Woodentops, Bill & Ben Or Camberwick Green/Trumpton/Chigley, times have changed.
To be honest I'll be quite happy if the council officers decide we have to move this to Friday night.
For sure it's annoying to have the first game of the season zapped earlydoors.
On the other hand:
1. Little Monsters Bash doubtless applied to book Stanmer Park anything up to a year in advance. Albion fixtures are allocated about two months in advance. No city can plan the use of its available open spaces at two months notice. Besides, we all know that Albion fixture dates are purely provisional and subject to short notice, inconvenient change.
2. Little Monsters Bash is not all about Peppa Pig. Rise Events are organisers of the Little Monsters Bash in aid of the Tree of Hope. Tree of Hope offers hope to the families of sick and disabled children in the UK who need specialist medical surgery, treatment, therapy and equipment in order to free them from suffering, giving a better quality to their young lives.
Reckon its only right and proper that its the Albion who have to suck it up on this occasion, short-term annoying though it is.
How about you take some of that cynicism you applied to the Rik Mayall thread and use it here ?
What sort of precedent does this set for the club and all of the associated match day functions (trains, buses, catering, stewards) ?
What other events and locations that the football club has no control over should be considered, when organising football fixtures ?
What's that got to do with anything? Besides there was no cynicism involved, I just happened to float the opinion that he wasn't really very funny, in my opinion, like, and found myself on the receiving end of good old-fashioned NSC lynch mob. . If it's any consolation I've been beating myself up about it ever since, with a frying pan to the head, while roaring with laughter like a 12 year old.
The precedent was already set when we moved into the Amex. An event in the vicinity that is booked a year in advance is almost always going to take precedent over one where the dates are allocated two months in advance and are subject to short-notice change e.g. for TV reasons. One event is fixed, the other is floating. What's so hard to understand?
As far as I am aware, matches have been moved for Gay Pride (on police advice) and Uni open days, (car parking availability). Is there any other precedent ? I really don't see this event being a major inconvenience to football supporters, or the police.
The cynicism referred to the blind acceptance that this was a wholly worthy event, as there is a charity name attached. I have no idea in this case, but there are many examples of good causes where the net benefit is marginal.
Understand the need to but for me that's yet another game my two young boys won't be able to attend, we do need to consider the value of children's ST, as I'm seriously thinking they miss too many due to late night KOs.
Good point, something I forget, rarely taking children to the AMEX.
I suppose someone in the council is making the decision at the moment.
I have no idea why you would suppose this. The council as the planning authority can and have set certain conditions on the use of the stadium, but that does not include deciding kick off times.
So it's the albion's decision when the kick off is ?
If not the council's decision , and not the albion's decision ( who surely would not care about this event ), who decides ?

It would have to be those involved in transport logistics. I'm guessing the local Police are involved. Not that the event will require much of their manpower.
Clubs decision within the rules and guidelines laid down by the league. Police have an advisory role. In reality clubs don't go against police advice.
