can anyone recommend a decent, (in price and standard!) hotel in london, eastern end of oxford street (ie. between the circus and the centrepoint building)

nearer to oxford st the better...

Stayed at the city inn. Last weekend £60 a night. Its in westminster. Dont know if thats any good to you. But its a nice place!

There's a Travelodge in Herbrand Street, just behind Russell Square, quite close to Russell Square Underground Station, which is probably quite reasonable. If your budget is higher, the Radisson (the Marlborough) in Bloomsbury Place, which comes down from Gower Street, is very nice, though I don't know what the price is like.
