Both linked with us. Owusu on a year deal, Murphy on a year long loan deal.
Or is there room for both in the squad to compete upfront alongside Forster, Murray, Davies, Dixon and Hart?

Youth v Experience, Potential v Proven??

Rhys Murphy
Injured a lot last season, plays upfront, was prolific in Arsenals youth team in the previous couple of seasons. Quite tall, with bags of potential. Local lad to us too

Lloyd Owusu
Came in at the end to save our season, 7 goals, fit WAG and upcoming DJing career. Proved he can do it at this level. Wants a two year contract, but only offered one (with clause for 2nd year), so went on trail with Adelaide

Rhys Murphy would be a quality signing, we have experience in Murray/Forster/Harty so he could be a foil for those guys. Having said that, Owusu's hold up play is quality and none of the strikers above are such a force in the air.

I know Slade said in the interview that he is 'spinning plates' at the moment but the fact he's even looking at strikers when we already have 4 decent ones says to me that he isn't at all confident of Owusu signing.

Owusu played an important part in the survival last season, but so also did Fraser and Loft.

I do not think that Slade will loose much sleep if we dont get him - hence the one year contract offer instead of the two year that Owusu wanted.

Nothing wrong with signing both.
Murphy wont break the bank

There's no point bringing in these kind of loans if you're not going to play them. It's a waste of wages for us, a waste of time for the player, and means that their club would be less likely to lend us players in the future.

I know nothing about Murphy other than what I've read on here.

Owusu is tried and tested, so I'd say we need to wrap him up first.

Never seen Murphy play so I don't see how we can possibly judge.

Let us not forget: Graham Barrett was an Arsenal striker too.

Rhys for the Youth, and come on, you cant say Lloyd has a fit WAG and then not produce a picture.
