Everyone knows that there are enchanted forests of magic money trees when the Government wants them. They just press the quantitative easing button and the mystic saplings sprout.

Weird how there was all that money to pay off the DUP to keep the Tories in Government but never any to feed hungry poor kids…

There is no magic Money Tree. Those on low incomes will benefit further as & when the UK tax take increases.
The measures that the Chancellor has put in place will benefit the whole population in time.

So you are taking your economic advice from someone so incompetent that he was incapable of keeping his mobile phone charged resulting in him being uncontactable on the day of the cabinet reshuffle. "What, I have to be contactable ALL the time ?" And consequently had to have his promotion to cabinet reported the day after everyone else

This may go some way to explaining why I have avoided taking financial advice from your company up until now :lolol:

To be fair, at least he's out there running a succesful business employing people with real world experience, rather than chuntering away on a football forum making embarrassing moronic comparisons with fascism or continually referencing multiple accounts ...

Gosh, you are so clever.

Oh sorry, not clever. I meant snide. Oily snide.

And the Resolution Foundation has reported this morning that the net effect of all the recent Tory tax changes is that middle income earners will be paying more.

Yes, my daughter is a qualified Chartered Tax Accountant and said exactly the same thing to me yesterday evening.

A government can print money, but it leads to inflation, but there is money for when it is needed. Look at furlough for example.

FFS sake you'll be saying feed them cake next.

Those hard working top earners (the rest of us are wasters according to you beloved MP's) are being given loads of money. It frankly doesn't add up. The BoE are attempting to bring down inflation. Then the Tories are trying to heat up the economy at the same time, what gives? The rich will suddenly get more interest on their vast savings, be able to buy more property tax free, the rest of us will have higher mortgage payments and higher rents.

There's an argument that the inflation is really only down to the pandemic and the Russians, that being true then the raising of interest rates. is like fixing a car that the brakes have failed by slamming it into a brick wall. It's not dealing with the situation. The way to bring down inflation is to make costs of production lower. So what has happened since this crisis loads of businesses now have to use white diesel not the rebated red. Why not reverse this and expand it to logistic companies thus reducing the huge rise in transport costs.

Oil/gas profits from our resource should have a profit cap, the rest to be spent directly on alternatives.

Finally low banded council tax should be zero rated but top band trebled.

Elvin Crescent/Foredown Drive to a millionaire.

Rab Butler’s edukacion system served you well.

Foredown Drive, mate. The house my dad paid £1500 for in 1963 is probably worth half a million, now. Unfortunately there's a white van parked out side it now

With a St George’s Cross flag, no doubt. The state of this country.

I’m emigrating to Italy to escape all this, then after their election tomorrow, to Venezuela.

Sorry to tell you, mate, but the Italy has already reached it's quota of non-EU migrants for the year.

You could try Ukraine (it will probably be a few years before they join the EU), or Turkey (a clear 5 years before they join, despite Farrage's promise it would be 2023).

As I see it, the wealthy and higher band tax payers are yet again the winners. With the adjustments to tax rates and stamp duty etc. they will be able to buy more property to add to their portfolio, rent it out and increase their wealth yet further, whilst reducing the number of affordable property's for our youngsters. Businesses need support at this time, giving cuts to personal higher tax rates is not moral.

These government loans need to be paid back, sorry kids as well as paying for the covid loans, you now have these additional loans to pay for because we gave tax cuts to those (our mates) who do not need it.

Interest rates will have to rise again (murmurs of an emergency meeting as early as next week by the BOE), those on fix rate mortgages coming to and end may have trouble finding a new cheap rate, those on a variable rate will see the increases at at time of high inflation. The negative comments on this 'mini-budget' by commentators etc. could well be right we hope not. Its starting to feel very 70's and 80's again.

I’m white skinned, I should be alright.

Low tax investments like VCTs, EISs, SEISs, ISAs & Pensions which all invest in UK companies, creating additional investment, corporation tax & income tax & NI to the treasury

Well , we saw what the various markets think of your theory yesterday.

I think the Covid loans will be paid by back by the honest businesses (that panicked in spring 2020). They’re not crooks.

It’s the £16b lost to criminals that’s a disgrace. Inevitable in rushed through help in a crisis, but very little’s being done to go after these criminal gangs. Crime does pay!
