Of Hungary..Debbie something or other.

Their opponents are the only national Champions in their group but have had to play 7 qualifying games to get to the group stage.

Farcical IMO.

Thats what I was getting at.

*pfffsssssttt* can opens....

Indeed. I was clarifying your point for Marc.

Complete and utter rusbbish. Most English managers complain about burning out and too many games, but sweat blood and tears, spend millions, teach their players to dive, traffick in young players and so on to reach a tournament that is potentially 16 games +.

I don't normally bother watching any of it, but my Liverpool supporting flatmate* is watching it.

* He says he is a die hard. Been with them through the good times and the bad. When I asked about the bad times, he cited that they finished 8th in the top flight, once. Been to see them a couple of times and has an unofficial Liverpool jacket, so who am I to argue?

An arm-chair fan the sort that say they can't watch their team due to living so far away and parade around town(Brighton) with there shirts on claiming to be a major fan on matchdays:mad:

He is from Kent. His closest team is Gillingham, so perhaps I should give him a break. jester:

I did give a hearty chuckle when we explained what he meant by the 'bad times'. Still, it is all relative. People (generally) can't help which team they fall for. He was one of those who had no-one interested in taking him to see the local team, so ended up adopting a TV team. Sad, but there you go.

Hopefully something that our various seagulls clubs can rectify.

As usual, ITV will bang on about those "special Anfield European nights".

Yeah. In the first round. Against a team you've never heard of. With at least 5,000 empty seats in the stadium.

Yep, they're special, alright.

Debrecen completly outsinging them, and they only have a small allocation in the corner of around 2,000

Oh, they will know who the opponents are. We are constantly reminded that Liverpool fans 'know their football'.

You do know it's against the law to directly suggest or imply anything remotely negative about Liverpool (the city or the football club), right?
