They'd better get in quick then, they may not be a top club for much longer. Not even in Europe any more let alone winning Champion's League.

BBC Sport - Liverpool say top clubs should be able to sell their own foreign TV rights

I'm sure the big 4 would love that. Then surely (Fergie are you listening) TV would definitely have too much power...

But would TV have too much power? Currently the Premier League signs the deals, then hands down a set of contractual t&c's to each club to adhere to, including notice for changing fixture and kick off times, how many players/officials are required to give interviews etc.

If a club has negotiated a deal themselves, presumably they would have more power to stipulate the individual t&c's thereby giving a club more power, then they currently have signing up to a unilateral deal.

This is a great idea. Let's make the league even less competitive and more predictable than before.

Is this the club with American owners who wouldn't dream of suggesting such a thing in MLB?

This idea seems driven by little other than greed and an unwillingness to share the money out a little more fairly.

I think it's about time we stopped pandering to these "BIG Clubs" and let them feck off and create their own European Super League if that's what they want. It would crash and burn inside 5 years, amid endless meaningless games as the top couple of teams of that are far to good for the rest. And that is wishful thinking, because right now, it would just be everyone else trying to hang on to the coat-tails of Barca. Can you imagine if they find themselves 10 points clear at the top by Christmas?

What are the viewing figures going to be for Valencia vs Inter Milan in the big battle for 12th in a League that wouldn't even have relegation.

Go on, go and do it, and drown in your own greed.
