Hi folks

I've just had this published. feel free to comment.

Many thanks.

Liverpool-Everton ground-share: Time to put it back on the agenda...? | Liverpool-Kop.com

My comments:

1. "two well placed bits of real estate". And you say you've BEEN there!? The land Anfield stands on is worthless for housing. there is derelict housing nobody wants to live in, all around it.

2. "fantastic new riverside stadium" There are no rivers anywhere near Anfield, and the club won't move to a different part of the city.

3. The scousers will absolutely not welcome the views of an outsider on this.

4. You'll get shit on here too, along the lines of 'who cares'...

I work in Liverpool and have discussed this with both sides and they are each as dismissive as the other. It will never happen. Everton fans go to ridiculous lengths like never having a red car/front door/clothes. It really is pathetic.

It would be interesting if it were to happen. I can't see the supporters going for it though. They are blinded by the rivalry.

It's an interesting idea, but surely it will never get off the ground. It's one thing looking at the situation without supporting either of the teams involved, but if it was us being rumoured to be building a ground with Palace/Crawley or whoever, it's an unappetising thought! I appreciate it makes economical sense but that isn't the issue for Everton or Liverpool fans I would guess, they would prefer to stay in their own stadiums even if they are restricted and archaic!!

1 Well place, does not imply currently developed...... yes I've been there, and to adopt your style - did you actually READ the piece?
2 In the un-edited text I suggested a site at Clarence Dock.
3 Some scousers don't - some do.....read the reaction.
4 .....only from the narrow minded, who are inclined to jump to conclusions without actually reading the piece.

I did read it all, thanks.

1. I know the area very well as it goes, having lived there for 4 years. Kensignton and Anfield are horrible. Nobody is going to build the next luxury development on the Anfield or Goodison sites, to fund a new ground.
2. Clarnce dock is too far. They won't move. Stanley Park is the ONLY site where any new stadium would be countenanced.
3. It comes across as very arrogant, to me for somebody after 'visiting Anfield for the first time' to tell them what they should do. Apologies though, for being offended on their behalf.
4. Its not about being narrow minded. I was interested enough to read it - you should be grateful for the click. My point was that many on here are less welcoming of posts relating to Premiership clubs.

It's nothing to do with people being narrow minded, either they give a shit about Liverpool or Everton, or they don't.

As for my opinion, who cares? :)

Some fair points.

First time there yes, but I' had heard of them you know.(have worked there too.....mostly among Blues fans)

And I do concede that you took the time to express an opinion......presumably because your interest is on a broader horizon than some. We at least share a common interest in the game as a whole, and I posted the link for similar people to ruminate on. Job done
