cheeky scousers:

Liverpool fans created an Anfield shrine under Manchester United player Gary Neville's swimming pool during renovations.
Brothers Brian and Gary Greer were tiling the England full-back's pool when they came up with the idea, reports today's Sun.
The brothers claim they buried a copy of Kop magazine, a Liverpool scarf and match-day programme underneath the pool in his house near Bolton.
Neville already has history with Liverpool. United and the Anfield side are fierce rivals and the player was fined £5,000 for over-zealous celebrations when United beat the Merseyside team two years ago.
A Manchester United source said: 'He's aware of this. To say he is less than pleased is an understatement.'
Builder Brian said: 'We went to Neville-Neville land to tile his swimming pool.
'While we were there we created a Scouse time capsule and tiled over the top of it. When his house is dug up in the future, archaeologists will see what a passion he had for the Red men.'

This reminds me of my father in law, who is a liverpool season ticket holder, built his own home and named it "Shankly". The only bit he couldnt do was the roof so he hired two roofers who unknown to him were Evertonians.

When they finished, an Everton flag was flying proudly from his roof for days until he could get a big enough ladder to get it down

Oh, you have to laugh that famous Scouse sense of humour. Like all their jokes, it's un-origial, but said or done with an equal measure of humour and hostility, so you laugh just to not get your throat cut.

My sides are aching.

But, if they are such passionate Liverpool fans, why would they even entertain doing a job for Gary Neville? Or is this all a load of made up bollocks, ah, there it is.

Would love this to be true, but theres no way someone would actually go to the trouble without bothering to take photos.
Its just done to cast doubt so he thinks its there.

If a Palace fan did my pool (without me knowing he was Palace) and said he buried something under it, I'd gladly spend more money to have the pool dug up and completely rebuilt.

Wow, those scousers sure showed Neville.

Seeing as if Neville did have that Liverpool merchandise, he would've thrown it away and it would've ended up beneath the ground in landfill anyway.

Great job.
