Indeed I was. A marvellous weekend of Everton Spurs on the Sat. and Liverpool Albion on the Sunday. Thankfully George Courtney's scandalous homer refereeing didn't conquer...

Yup! I seem to remember even the Liverpool fans applauded the mighty Stripes that day. I was 15.

Listened to it on the radio. I was only 11 but pissing shit when Liverpool were awarded the penalty. Cannot believe Phil Neal missed it cos everytime I saw him on TV he was tucking penalties away for fun !!.:drink:

Me and a mate had to watch it from the Kop - we couldn't get into the away end. Fortunately it was so packed that nobody noticed my celebrations - in fact we all surged forward, like you see in the old films of the Kop, when Wardy squared it for Ryan to score - well I think he did - I hardly saw it. My single memory of that game was the immense performance of Steve Foster and the Kop constantly chanting "F*** off Foster".

As good as that is, it's the following season is it not?

Yes - there is no television footage of the other game because of a BBC strike at the time. Amateur film footage does exist though.

I was there - wonderful day. There is some footage that was made available as TGC had it on one of his DVD collections.

yes and the previous year in the league

I was there - we had the most fantastic fish and chips from a chinese takeaway before the game.

Fantastic day out! I knew we were going to win when a seagull flew over our stand in the second half - and singing We are Brighton, from the south - real hair on the back of the neck stuff.

And 8 years later the fact that I went to the game formed part of my ex-wife's divorce petition to show the court what a terrible husband I was!!!

Certainly in my best ever top 3 Albion days - maybe even THE best
