Saw the US Bombs at the haunt last night. Not seen them before , so was quite intrigued. Not quite what I was expecting .Thought they were a skater punk band , falling somewhere in between Pennywise and Suicidal Tendencies. Sadly not . Sounded like a very poor imitation of a first wave English punk .Even their songs sounded slightly similar to more established songs of that period. Prefered the support bands to be honest ,and if I say one of those was the Asbo Retards , it will give you some idea of how disapointing the US Bombs were. Oh well , seen them now , so no need to see them again.

I saw the Asbo Retards supporting someone a few years ago. I recall the singer pulled his trousers down to reveal a Maggie Thatcher tattoo on his thigh and sang a song about it. Quite surreal.

Just confirm the singer was not HB&B.

When does Live Music 2014 start? Corgi, can you start a new thread or shall we just carry on here? I have just bought a slew of tickets for the new year and want to post the details. I would start one myself but this is your rather excellent baby and do not want to steal your glory.

If this thread is accepting entries for 2014 then I humbly submit Midlake at St George's Church on Feb 27 a stones throw away from their awesome Hanbury debut many moons ago.

On this, can I recommend Polar Bear at Komedia, especially if you like BIG hair.

I must mention Sabbath at the 02 the other night . Simply awesome !!!!!! I am a big fan of the Dio era albums and Heaven and Hell as an entity , but this was the business .
Also 3 songs from the new album just fitted in as if they had always been part of the set . I look forward to at least another tour from the loudest 60 somethings on the planet .

Pre-sale for Arcade Fire in Antwerp starts tomorrow. Got my code at the ready...

Good luck. I bagged some Berlin tickets this morning. Already seen them here this year, going to the London gig as well as well.

I bought some tickets for Midlake as well. They only played here a couple of months back but they have another gig in March.

I think we should carry on this thread as its sometimes fun to look back at what people have been up to. I am going to PM Hans K and see if he can change the date to 2014 on thread title as I have no idea how and if it can be done. Looking forward to seeing what you have got lined up. My over ambitious plan to see a band every week is already falling apart in week one!

HT, I think you live in/near Berlin. If you're curious about music, can endure/enjoy free-form/avant-garde jazz, and like noisy music, then I couldn't recommend this 72-year-old more highly:

Wowza. Just been listening/watching to this chap on YouTube. I have to say this is right out of my comfort zone. I'm certainly curious and the Friday night makes it attractive. I will let you know.

He certainly disturbs comfort zones. Hope you get the chance to see him. Either way, I'd be grateful if you attempted to return recommendations.
