I would say this should be played at DisneyWorld but that would be an insult to Linfield

It's just two sides from the lower echelons of European football leagues trying to get into the big time, surely that's what they'll be concentrating on.

This game - and the timing - will likely provoke crowd trouble and serious trouble outside the ground, throughout Belfast. The 12th July is noted for widespread sectarian rioting at the best of times. Following the recent assembly elections in Northern Ireland and the general election which were fought as a sectarian headcount, sectarian tensions are already significantly higher than normal. Moving it to the 11th will make diddly-squat of difference - rioting is common the day before the 12th (loyalist and nationalist sectarian marches take place all the time and there is a particularly contentious feeder parades in North Belfast that begin preparations on the 11th). If anything having the game on the 11th will provoke more prolonged conflict.

This game has the potential to provoke the most serious conflict in Belfast in 20 years. The only option that might diffuse the situation somewhat is swapping the home and away legs on the 12th July - although there are always tensions in Glasgow on the same day - there are currently 15 Orange Order parades planned for Glasgow on 25th June and several dozen orange parades scheduled for 1st July.

Giving the' orange men' a good beating by Celtic can only be a good thing. Their constant celebrating of a battle from 1690, around the time of the dinosaurs by marching down catholic areas In Belfast should be outlawed.

How would Germany like British troops marching in Berlin every year to celebrate VE day?
