Worthing
Is going to look very different this coming weekend with Cullip and Virgo suspended.

I wasn't at the game saturday, but was suprised to see Knight, Currie and Hammond all on the bench.

With Virgo out, it's obvious Knight will start upfront with Claridge...but what of Currie and Hammond ???

I can't fault that either!

Whenever we have tried to attack this season we seem to have got caught out. Whilst I want to see attacking football, it's more important that we don't lose to the likes of Burnley.

But we have Claridge now who (as McGhee puts it) defends from the front. I think we now have the personel to go out and attack these 'lesser' teams at home.

So everybody agreed that Oatway is to be dropped?

That generally happens when we mess with the formation - Harty gives as much effort as anyone else on the right, but gives us another dimension going forward. Having too natural forwards should help as well - they will keep the ball better and take the onus of the midfield a bit.

Kuipers

E-Abd
Butters
Hinsh

Reid
Harding

Nicholas
Chippy
Hammond

Knight
Claridge

Reid & Harding as wingbacks with Chippy being the defensive midfielder allowing Hammond to support the front two and Nicholas to mince about and supply the wingbacks & hammond.

I would revert to 442, and I don't see that Oatway merits inclusion in the middle ahead of Chippy or Alexis. Hammond has to come into the equation as well - he has done little wrong recently.

If Leon can be dropped for WH, then I think Oatway can be for this.

Burnleys record on the road reads: W2 D5 L2 F4 A6.

I don't think we're looking at a goal-fest here, and if I were a betting man (which I am) then my money would be on a nailed-on draw. 0-0 or 1-1 looks likely. This will be achieved with R Toads lineup.

Its nice to have choices rather than the same old few

Exactly. What are the team's strengths? What is the common feature of most of our 1-0 victories? PATIENCE, not headless-chicken attacking, that cost us against both QPR and Crewe.

Kuipers

Reid
Butters
Hinsh
Harding

Hammond
Oatway
Nicolas
Currie

Claridge
McCammon

Subs: Knight, Carpenter, Hart, Mayo, Roberts

Still picking Oatway over Chippy even after Saturday?

It's not funny anymore.

Oh and McCammon doesn't actually play for us yet.

Yes, because Oatway played BETTER - Claridge wasn't playing for us at this time last week either, was he?

Agreed, Charlie was more effective than Chippy on Saturday, although both had a good game.
As we are at home next game, I would not play Hammond, Oatway and Nicolas in the same midfield, but two of these plus Carpenter and Currie to provide the quality of passing needed to keep possession. 1-0 again will do me fine, I just hope the lads can keep up this level of effort week in week out.
