Duo Out To Impress

The Imps' management team will be casting their eye over two trialists at this evening's friendly fixtures against Brigg Town and Boston Town.

The two players in question are former Atletico Madrid striker Maheta Molango (22), who played six times for Brighton & Hove Albion last season, scoring just 12 seconds into his English League debut against Reading, and Dunston Federation Brewery's prolific front man Graeme Armstrong.

Armstrong, previously with top Scottish non-League outfit Annan Athletic, was recommended to City manager Keith Alexander by ex-Imp Steve Holmes, who is now with the Northern League outfit who lost just once in the league last season.

Is Molango really the type of striker we need at the moment. No, we need a big target man who is proven to score at a high level.

Hasn't actually had a chance either, Virgo went to Exeter and Hammond to Orient and I for one am pleased they were both only on loan. Same again for Maheta - Albion legend 2006 I hope

Hope he'll only go there on loan

I agree. Get the experience needed and then come back and show what he did at Reading again.

Having a spell on loan can sometimes help a player, maybe it can help Maheta. For those of us fortunate enough to have been at the Burnley game last season, how good was Jakey in the second half when he came on as sub, I seem to remember that he had just returned from a loan spell at Aldershot.

I still think Maheta can become a bit of a cult figure at the Albion, the next target for MM to turn around maybe, I would hate to see him leave without getting a real chance to prove his worth.

He really was extremely impressive in that game.
