Like/Dislike on an individual post - Useful?

Seems a few people think a Like/Dislike button on each piost might be more useful than the Reputation thing. What do you think?

Can't they do both? Could it mean more peoople get involved - those that post will post anyway. Those that don't might use this rather than do nothing?

Makes no odds, I'm sure the sad acts will feel the need to tell everyone that they liked or disliked a post, in the same way the ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO tell people they have been neg repped.

clicking a like post don't stop you adding a further comment, but it might stop some one posting abuse to some ones else's comments if they disagree with there views and encourage them to clicking dislike post instead

I don't get this "like" "dislike" stuff. If you like a post or comment you might feel inclined to agree or add something, if you don't you might feel like saying so or ignoring it. What exactly does clicking that you like or dislike add ?? Genuinely confused..I mean what is the point of it?

i read a hell a lot of post here, but if you see my post count i don't reply to every single post i have read, but would be nice if something good i read i can apply i like the post, and nothing personal in me applying your quotes lol
